Justin Bieber was just as confused as everyone else when Swag II, the album he’d been heavily promoting all day on Thursday, failed to drop at midnight as he’d promised.

In a series of Instagram posts, Justin expressed his frustration and bafflement when the album didn’t materialize. “I’m sorry for the wait their [sic] telling me any second,” he wrote. He captioned another post, “Me waiting with u, not baiting u not sure wut the f***yyy is going on clicking refreshhhhhh.”

“It’s not clocking to Spotify and Apple Music,” he wrote in another post, referring to his viral “not clocking to you” video from earlier this summer. “Refreshhhh loadinggggggg………”

Finally, around 3:30 a.m., Justin announced that the album had appeared, first on YouTube, then Amazon Music, then Spotify. When the uploads were all complete, he wrote, “OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGG WE LIVEEEEEEEEEE.”

Swag II has 23 songs, including guest appearances from Tems, Lil B, Bakar, Hurricane Chris and Eddie Benjamin. The final track, “Story of God,” is a nearly eight-minute, spoken word retelling of the Biblical story of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Justin narrates the story as Adam, in the first-person perspective, describing how Adam and Eve “lost paradise,” but concluding with the promise of the arrival of Jesus.

Lady A‘s “Need You Now” was a massive pop hit in 2010, and now Charles Kelley has his own solo pop hit, “Can’t Lose You,” from his new album, Songs for a New Moon. Both were heavily inspired by ’80s pop and yacht rock — a genre Charles says reminds him of his childhood.

“It just feels like a warm blanket,” he tells ABC Audio. “I think it just takes me back to that time where I really didn’t have any worries — you know, you’re just a young kid. And that music just always stuck with me. … When I’m on the golf course playing golf, I mean, that’s what I put on my playlist.”

“This was kind of where I am right now in my life,” he adds. “I wasn’t in the mood to make some singer-songwriter record. … I’m just kind of like, ‘Man, I just want to show some joy.’ So it’s the perfect time for me to do this record.”

Describing the music as “fun and fresh,” Charles says he knew some die-hard country fans might object, but notes, “I think anybody that’s a music fan loves a little bit of everything.”

However, he now has to “start from scratch,” as he puts it, when it comes to reintroducing himself to people who only know him as “that guy from that group.”

“You have to … really get out there and find new fans any way you can,” he says, adding that he’d like to “create a little word-of-mouth.”

“I think that that would be the ultimate dream for this project, is just people just talking about it, you know.”

Charles will be back with Lady A in December for their first Christmas tour, promoting On This Winter’s Night (Volume 2), which drops Sept. 26.

DED has shared a new song called “Purpose: Be Myself,” a track off the band’s upcoming album, Resent.

“I think the meaning of the song is pretty self-explanatory but it’s really about following your purpose,” says frontman Joe Cotela. “That calling is usually from somewhere in your intuition deep inside of your being.”

“Everyone has their own unique purpose or multiple purposes that give their life meaning and value,” he continues. “I think putting these purposes at the forefront of your life is pretty much the meaning of life. It’s a calling that comes from your soul and it brings you closer to the universe/god/love/self.”

You can watch the video for “Purpose: Be Myself” streaming now on YouTube.

Resent, the follow-up to 2021’s School of Thought, drops Sept. 19. It also includes the previously released songs “Rockstar,” “Eraser” and “Until I Die” featuring Motionless in White‘s Chris Motionless.

DED will hit the road with In This Moment and Dayseeker on a tour beginning Sept. 18 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.

Back in February 2024, Paul McCartney’s long-lost Höfner bass was returned to him after over 50 years, and now the story of how that happened will be told in a new documentary.

According to Variety, the mystery of the missing instrument will be the subject of the new doc The Beatle and the Bass from director Arthur Cary, with McCartney appearing in the flick.

The film, commissioned by BBC Arts, will feature interviews with others connected to the bass and its mystery, as well as fans, experts and collaborators. Also taking part are the journalists who launched The Lost Bass Project campaign, which helped recover the missing instrument and get it back to McCartney.

McCartney purchased the bass in Hamburg, Germany, in 1961 and used it to write such Beatles classics as “Love Me Do” and “She Loves You.” Initially it was believed to have last been seen in 1969, following the filming of Get Back. It was later revealed that it had actually been stolen in 1972 from a truck parked in Notting Hill, West London.

The Lost Bass Project launched its campaign to find McCartney’s bass in 2018, with the Beatle announcing in February 2024 that he had it back in his possession.

This isn’t the only documentary McCartney is taking part in. The new doc Man on the Run, about McCartney’s post-Beatles career, recently debuted at the Telluride Film Festival. It will be released in select theaters and then stream on Prime Video starting Feb. 25, 2026.

Are you ready for some Foos news?

It certainly appears that Foo Fighters are about to announce something, judging from a new Instagram post from Dave Grohl and company encouraging you to sign up for their newsletter.

“Foo Fighters Assemble!!!” the post reads. “Make sure you’re subscribed to the newsletter for info you won’t want to miss… just sayin’…”

The post is accompanied by a photo showing a top-down view of each Foo Fighters member’s shoes, with their faces out of frame. We count six pairs of shoes, which suggests that one of the people in the photo is the band’s new drummer.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, that new drummer is Ilan Rubin, who long played with Nine Inch Nails, but that hasn’t been confirmed by the Foos. The last Foo Fighters drummer, Josh Freese, was let go from the band in May and has since rejoined NIN, whom he played with from 2005 to 2008.

Foo Fighters are currently set to return to the road in October for a tour of Asia. Those dates mark not only the Foos’ first live performances with their new drummer, but also their first since Grohl’s 2024 infidelity scandal.

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are no longer engaged. But according to Orlando’s ex-wife, they — along with her — are all still “one big happy family.”

Miranda Kerr, who was married to Orlando from 2010 to 2013 and shares son Flynn Bloom with him, told an Australian radio station, “I love them both. I actually just saw them both. … We were celebrating [their daughter] Daisy‘s birthday.” Daisy turned 5 on Aug. 26.

Miranda went on to relate how she, Katy and Orlando posed for a photo together while at the party: “It was kinda funny … Orlando and then his two exes on the side. And we all had such a big smile on our faces, you know? We’re one big happy family, as always.”

She said Katy is “amazing,” adding, “I love her — and him, obviously.”

While she didn’t answer the deejay’s question about “what happened” between Katy and Orlando, she did discuss how she and Orlando, and now Orlando and Katy, have kept things amicable.

“Honestly, when you have children, it shouldn’t be any other way. It needs to be harmonious,” she said. “They’re going to be in your life for the rest of your life, so just be peaceful.”

“If you do have animosity, it only hurts yourself,” she added.
