Madonna returns to original record label, new dance album coming in 2026

Madonna has confirmed that her new album is coming next year — and it’ll be released on the same record label where she launched her career.

After 25 years on Warner Records, Madonna left the label in 2007. She’s now re-signed with them for the release of what will be her first studio album in seven years. As previously reported, she’s reteamed with producer Stuart Price for the project, the same producer she worked with on 2005’s Confessions on a Dance Floor.

“From being a struggling artist in New York City to signing a record deal to release just three singles, it seemed at the time my world would never be the same again and in fact that couldn’t have been truer,” Madonna says in a statement. “Since the beginning Warner Records has been a real partner with me. I am happy to be reunited and look forward to the future, making music, doing the unexpected while perhaps provoking a few needed conversations.”

On Instagram, she seemed to confirm the title of the new album by writing, “Back to music, Back to the Dance Floor Back to where it all began! COADF- P. 2 2026” — that stands for Confessions on a Dance Floor Pt. 2.

Madonna’s most recent album, Madame X, came out in 2019.

Josh Ross almost called his debut album ‘Nobody from Nowhere’

Josh Ross is on a hot streak right now: He was just named entertainer of the year at the Canadian Country Music Association Awards, and picked up single and video honors for his first #1, “Single Again.”

His debut album, Later Tonight, arrives on Friday — though it almost had a different title.

“It was tough. I mean, to be completely honest with you, I thought about naming the album Nobody from Nowhere and doing that as track one,” he reveals. “I knew that ‘Later Tonight,’ to me, felt like [an] overall [well]-rounded, easy song. It could be, you know, you’re driving along in the car, [or] the lights come on at the bar at 2 a.m. and it’s time to leave. It just felt really easy to digest.”

The former college football player also came up with a little game to play with the other song titles.

“I also thought it was very coincidental that if you take the title Later Tonight and kinda add the other titles to it, like Later Tonight, you’ll “Leave Me Too,” Later Tonight I’m ‘Scared of Getting Sober’ — there was a lot of concepts in the record to me that happened Later Tonight,” he explains. “So for me it was a lotta fun to kinda put that as the first track to welcome people to the record.”

Later Tonight also features Josh’s new single, “Hate How You Look.”

Paul McCartney wants fans to know that if they don’t hear about something from him, it’s likely not real.

The topic came up in McCartney’s latest “You Gave Me The Answer” Q&A on his website, which was focused on the topic of AI.

“With so much AI out there now how do you deal with the misinformation or AI created content that is supposedly you?” read the question from a fan. “How can we be sure what might be official?”

Paul started his response with a joke, writing, “How do I know if this question isn’t even AI generated? Ha!”

“Seriously though, there’s so much of it about and it can be hard to know what is real,” he shares. “I think most people can still tell the difference but some of it is getting pretty clever.”

McCartney says it’s not uncommon for friends to let him know about things he allegedly said or had done that were not true. “Or there are songs appearing with me apparently on them,” he adds. “Some of it is really wild!”

As for how fans can differentiate fact from fiction, McCartney has a simple answer.

“I always say that it’s best to check my website and my own social media accounts to see if it’s official, as that’s where we share news about what I’m up to,” he says. “If it’s not there then the chances are that it’s fake news!”’

Here’s something that is not fake news: McCartney is getting ready to hit the road on a new North American leg of his Get Back tour. After a warm-up show on Sept. 26 at the Santa Barbara Bowl in Santa Barbara, California, he’ll kick off the tour on Sept. 29 in Palm Desert, California.

Maxwell says Silent Serenade Ensemble ‘breathes new life into’ his experience of performing

Maxwell‘s Silent Serenade Ensemble launches Thursday, but it’s nothing like his previous shows or tours. The trek is a moment for him to present his music in a way fans haven’t seen, with an emphasis on the ensemble he’s putting together.

“The ensemble … can be any kind of grouping of instrumentation that you’ve ever seen. It could be reeds, it could be strings, it could harps,” he tells ABC Audio, noting he pushed himself to make his vision come true.

“It’s a challenge for me to make all types of groupings of music and combinations of instrumentation [to] present songs that you’ve already heard before. So this is, like, really ambitious for me,” he shares. “I’m always excited about doing it because it breathes new life into the experience for me.”

While he does enjoy his typical shows where he performs the “songs that people like,” Maxwell says he was eager to tap into the side of him “that needs to have that fun, and needs to explore and needs to take risks.”

“This is my opportunity to do it,” he said of the Silent Serenade Ensemble. “And I think in this time of normalization, commonality, if you will, we need to shake things up.”

He continued, “We need to give people a reason to go, you know, ‘This is some other s*** right here.'”

The Silent Serenade Ensemble currently features four shows: one in Maxwell’s hometown of New York and three in the Washington metropolitan area, his second home.

“I just wanted to start there and let the word get around, and let’s see what happens afterwards,” he tells ABC Audio, teasing the possibility of an expanded trek.

Maroon 5 wants to help keep your ‘Memories’ alive

Maroon 5 (Hugh Lippe)

Maroon 5‘s upcoming tour is offering a way for fans to keep their cherished “memories” of loved ones alive.

As Adam Levine explains in an Instagram Reel, the band has created a special website where you can upload a photo of “anybody that you miss, that you’ve lost.” You can post more than one photo. Then, when the band plays their hit “Memories” in concert, they’ll show those photos on their big video screen in montage form.

“It’ll be super, super special,” Adam says of the moment, adding that they “can’t wait to share it with you guys.”

Maroon 5’s song “Memories,” based on Pachelbel‘s “Canon in D Major,” was released in September 2019 and was eventually included on their 2021 album, Jordi. Both the song and the album’s title paid tribute to Jordan Feldstein, the band’s manager, who died in 2017 of a pulmonary embolism. It peaked at #2 on the Hot 100.

Maroon 5’s Love Is Like tour, in support of their new album of the same name, gets underway Oct. 6 in Phoenix, Arizona.

(NOTE CONTENT) DaBaby stars in and directed his new music video, which pays homage to Iryna Zarutska, a 23-year-old Ukrainian refugee who was stabbed to death in his hometown.

“Save Me” finds DaBaby taking on the role of a bystander. He stops the actor representing Decarlos Brown Jr. from stabbing the woman who portrays Zarutska.

Zarutska was stabbed to death on Aug. 22 while riding the Lynx Blue Line in Charlotte, North Carolina, according to an affidavit obtained by ABC News.

According to the affidavit, Zarutska got on the train and sat directly in front of Brown, who eventually pulled a knife out of his pocket and struck her, according to an affidavit obtained by ABC News. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Brown was arrested after he was released from the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department has since charged him with first-degree murder.

Brown is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
