The Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame is movin’ out its Billy Joel exhibit, which has been drawing crowds to the museum in Stony Brook, New York, for the past two years. But unlike most museum exhibits, fans will be able to take home some of the more than 100 items of memorabilia.

The exhibit is closing Oct. 25, and on that day, the museum will host The Billy Joel Collectors Presentation, featuring Paul Fierro and Eric Fellen, two local collectors who loaned many of their own Billy Joel items to the exhibit. They’ll talk about how they obtained the memorabilia, as well as “the art of collecting all things Billy.”

But most exciting for fans is that some of Fierro and Fellen’s collection from the exhibit will be up for grabs in a silent auction designed to raise money for the museum. They include promo items from the ’70s, ’80s and ’90s; backstage passes; an original pressing of The Hour of the Wolf, the second album Billy recorded with his old band The Hassles; a poster from Billy’s 100th show at Madison Square Garden; a Billy Joel New York Yankees bobblehead; and many other items.

And if you don’t want to pony up cash for the auction, there will also be door prizes, including promotional items from 1987, 1990 and 2006, giveaways from Billy’s 70th concert at the Garden and more. Admission to the event is free.

Many of the items will, of course, be returned to Billy himself, and others who loaned them.

It’s been nearly a year since Khalid‘s ex-boyfriend Hugo D Almonte outed his sexuality on social media, and the singer is opening up about how he felt when it happened.

“I feel like, when it happened, it was random as f***,” he said during his appearance on the Zach Sang Show“When you’re like half a decade removed from a situation from someone and it comes back the way that it did, it’s just confusing. … I was a little distraught, a little confused when it happened.”

Despite Almonte’s apparent intention to upset him, Khalid shares he’s making the situation work in his favor.

“I’m going to turn everything that’s weaponized against me and use it for my own ammunition,” he said. “I feel like there’s a group of people in this world that feel like being gay is a really bad thing. And I’m like, to say that being myself is bad would be limiting myself from having so much f****** fun.”

Khalid adds that having his privacy “weaponized against me on a global public scale” has only made him “want to be more open,” hence the lyrics about his sexuality on his new album, After the Sun Goes Down.

“I knew that I wanted it to be upbeat, and to me, upbeat music just feels like liberation and freedom,” he shared of the project, noting it was in the works before he got outed.

Asked whether he planned on coming out before the incident, Khalid answered, “I intended on being completely honest.”

He added, “It’s unfortunate that someone got to expose something so personal to me, but maybe it sped up the process.”

After the Sun Goes Down is now available on streaming services.

On Oct. 14, 2022, a singer-songwriter named Noah Kahan released an album called Stick Season — and three years later, he’s a global, Grammy-nominated star. On Tuesday Noah took to Instagram to reflect on how the album has changed his life.

“stick season is 3 years old and I’ll never get sick of it,” he writes. “I love it so much and I love how many people it’s reached. I love being ‘that New England guy.'”

“If telling stories about the greatest state in the world is what I’m known for, then I’ll be a happy man for the rest of my life,” he adds. “Thank you to all who listen, share, and sing them back to me.”

Noah posted a video that literally shows how it started and how it’s going. It begins with him in March 2022, talking about how he’s in Vermont “making music about Vermont”: “I feel like people are gonna like it because it feels very authentic and real.” We then see footage of him in the studio recording the album.

The video includes a reference to the 2023 “We’ll All Be Here Forever” version of the album, which shot him to fame. That’s followed by footage of Noah performing “Stick Season” onstage at a sold-out Fenway Park in 2024 with James Bay, the band Mt. Joy and members of his family, as thousands of fans sing along.
