Bruce Hornsby releases ‘Ecstatic’ new track featuring Bonnie Raitt

Bruce Hornsby has released the new single “Ecstatic,” which features backing vocals from Bonnie Raitt.

The track is the second song Hornsby has released from his upcoming album, Indigo Park, following the title track. It was inspired by chants he heard watching his son play basketball.

This isn’t the first time Hornsby and Raitt have worked together. In fact, their first collaboration was on Raitt’s iconic ballad “I Can’t Make You Love Me,” which appeared on her 1991 album, Luck of the Draw.

Accompanying the release of “Ecstatic,” Hornsby has released a video for the song that features the Louisiana State University Tigers’ women’s basketball team. The clip was shot on campus, where Hornsby’s son Keith Hornsby played basketball and is currently a graduate assistant for the LSU Tigers men’s team.

“Ecstatic” is available now via digital outlets.

Indigo Park, dropping April 3, has Hornsby backed by his band The Noisemakers, along with guitarist Blake Mills, bassist Pino Palladino and drummer Chris Dave. In addition to Raitt, it features guest appearances by the late Bob Weir and Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig. It also contains two songs co-written by the late Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter.

Hornsby and The Noisemakers are set to hit the road in support of Indigo Park. The tour kicks off April 9 in Cincinnati, Ohio. A complete list of dates can be found at BruceHornsby.com.

When Luke Combs gets together to write with Cody Johnson, it’s not exactly surprising it’s a cowboy song they come up with.

What is a bit surprising, however, is that “I Ain’t No Cowboy” is love song laced with longing, as Luke revealed by sharing a minute of the song on his socials.

“I knew the day I met her, one day I’d have to forget her/ But that didn’t stop me from trying to hold her like a river holds the rain/ She always wanted wide open spaces, and I tried my best to tame her/ But I woulda been better off breaking a herd of wild mustangs,” Luke sings in what seems to be the first verse.

“I ain’t no cowboy, but I wish I was,” he continues in the chorus. “We’d have rode off together in the setting sun/ Instead of watching her ride right out of my life/ If I coulda roped her heart back in, I coulda been what she needed when she saddled up and she kicked up a cloud of dust/ I ain’t no cowboy, but now I wish I was.”

Luke and Cody co-wrote the 14th track on his sixth studio album with Jake Mears.

The Way I Am arrives in full on March 20.

Fans clamor for joint album after Pink covers Kelly Clarkson

Now that Pink has put her spin on a Kelly Clarkson song, fans are clamoring for the two pop powerhouses to join forces for an album.

Ahead of her hosting gig on The Kelly Clarkson Show, Pink and Kelly discussed the fact that Pink would be singing one of Kelly’s songs during the week. Kelly said she was “stoked” but also concerned because, as she put it, “She’s gonna sing it better.”

That’s debatable, but fans were blown away by Pink’s performance on Tuesday’s episode: She sang “lighthouse,” from Kelly’s most recent album, 2023’s Chemistry.

On Instagram, where the performance is posted, one fan wrote, “Can we PLEASE get a Kelly and Pink album?!” Another agreed, “this 110% Their voices compliment each other beautifully!” Another hopeful fan chimed in, “and a tour.”

“If her and Pink created their own music, especially relating to current events in the world, I feel it would be a very powerful, healing album and experience,” another fan wrote.

“The world deserves a joint album because I mean… you guys harmonizing is just the F’ing definition of Eargasm!” wrote another, adding #manifesting.

After the performance of “lighthouse,” Pink told the audience, “It is such a powerful song. It is also an insane song to cover. I don’t think people should cover Kelly Clarkson but the brave few try.”

Perhaps if Pink, who’s nominated for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, gets in, she can ask Kelly to induct her.

Reba McEntire joins Trisha Yearwood’s Band As One Nashville Concert for the Cure

You can add Reba McEntire to the star-studded list of artists who will play Trisha Yearwood’s breast cancer benefit March 22 at the Grand Ole Opry House.

“I am honored to collaborate with Trisha and the other artists for this incredible show to raise awareness for such a meaningful cause,” Reba says. “I have seen how breast cancer impacts families, friends, and communities. The Opry Stage has always represented heart and tradition, and I’m proud to stand on that stage and support those affected by this disease.”

Reba joins Charles Kelley, The Band Loula, Ashley McBryde, Lukas Nelson, Rissi Palmer, War & Treaty and Hailey Whitters, who’ve previously been confirmed as part of the lineup.

This is the second year for Band As One Nashville Concert for the Cure: Trisha Yearwood & Friends. Tickets are on sale now for the benefit, which is moving from the Ryman Auditorium to accommodate a bigger crowd.

Proceeds benefit the Susan G. Komen breast cancer foundation.

Sting releases expanded edition of ‘Mercury Falling’ for 30th anniversary

Sting is celebrating the 30th anniversary of his fifth studio album, Mercury Falling, with a just-released expanded edition of the album.

The digital-only Mercury Falling (Expanded Edition) includes the original album along with 19 tracks, several of which were previously unavailable on digital services. The bonus material includes various B-sides and remixes, the song “Moonlight” from the 1995 film Sabrina and three live recordings: “You Still Touch Me,” “Lithium Sunset” and The Police classic “Message in a Bottle.”

Mercury Falling (Expanded Edition) is now available via digital outlets.

Released March 4, 1996, Mercury Falling peaked at #5 on the Billboard 200 and included such singles as “Let Your Soul Be Your Pilot” and “I’m So Happy I Can’t Stop Crying.”

The album went on to be certified Platinum by the RIAA and was nominated for a Grammy for best pop vocal album. “Let Your Soul Be Your Pilot” also earned Sting a Grammy nod for best male pop vocal performance.

Hear Poppy on new song ‘In Death We’ve Just Begun’ for ‘Marathon’ video game

Poppy sings on a new song called “In Death We’ve Just Begun,” recorded for the upcoming video game Marathon.

The track was created in collaboration with composer Ryan Lott and his band, Son Lux.

Marathon will be released on Thursday. It’s the latest game from the studio Bungie, which previously created the Halo and Destiny franchises.

Poppy released her latest album, Empty Hands, in January. She will launch a U.S. tour in July.

Selena Gomez shares unseen wedding photos, reveals how many kids she wants

Selena Gomez has shared a treasure trove of throwback photos and videos in a photo dump on her Instagram Story, including unseen pics from her wedding and a snap with her BFF Taylor Swift.

One photo shows Selena wearing the high-necked sleeveless Ralph Lauren gown she later debuted in a first-look photo. It’s not clear whether she’s laughing or crying.

“First fitting of one of my dresses,” she captioned the image, adding a crying happy tears emoji.

Another photo captures a laughing Selena in her reception dress alongside her husband, Benny Blanco. The couple are seated on chairs being lifted up by wedding guests, with Benny holding a piece of fabric. The moment highlights a beloved Jewish wedding tradition in which the bride and groom are hoisted in chairs by the guests while each holds one end of a cloth — usually a napkin — as they’re lifted up and down.

The dump also includes a photo of Selena “fangirling” while posing with How I Met Your Mother star Josh Radnor, as well as a picture of her and Taylor Swift eating a red, white and blue ice pop. According to People, the latter was taken at Taylor’s 2023 Fourth of July party.

Meanwhile, on the new episode of Benny’s podcast Friends Keep Secrets, Selena revealed that she hopes to have four children because of a scene in the movie The Family Stone where Diane Keaton’s character is surrounded by her children at the dinner table. “It has always made me feel so good inside that I said, ‘One day when I’m her age, I want to see that dinner table,'” Selena shared.

She added, “Whatever happens happens. If we’re only able to have one, none, I don’t know … but my dream for sure was that scene where they’re all at the dinner table.”

‘If I Don’t Leave I’m Gonna Stay’: The latest in the Carly Pearce/Riley Green duet drama

The title of the new Carly Pearce/Riley Green duet is out, along with more sultry pictures from what appears to be a spicy video shoot.

Carly’s latest social media post reveals the cover of “If I Don’t Leave I’m Gonna Stay,” along with its March 13 arrival date.

The cover of the track shows Carly in the same white negligee as previous photos, locked in an embrace with Riley, who’s wearing a white T-shirt, looking like he’s about to kiss her. A shot from the video offers a similar pose.

Carly first started hinting at the collab Feb. 23, as she cleared her Instagram and posted a solo photo in the negligee. A March 4 video showed a man running his hand down her leg while she was holding a glass of wine, along with a snippet where Carly sings “Baby isn’t doing this the definition of insane.”

The next day brought the first video of the pair together, with Riley adding harmony to the line Carly previously released.

“If I Don’t Leave I’m Gonna Stay” will be the latest preview of Carly’s upcoming fifth studio album, following “Church Girl” and her current radio single, “Dream Come True.”

Metric releases new song ‘Time Is a Bomb’ off upcoming ‘Romanticize the Dive’ album

Metric has released a new song called “Time Is a Bomb,” a track off the band’s upcoming album, Romanticize the Dive.

“Say what you want about the wellness boom, I think it’s a natural response to the unrelenting awareness we have of our mortality,” frontwoman Emily Haines says in a statement. “The powerless feeling of wanting to hold on and make time stop while simultaneously doing everything you can to max out your fleeting vitality – this song expresses that inner tension.”

“I love my life and I’m truly amazed that I made it to my happily ever after, but I don’t want to spend the time I have left obsessing over personal consequences, being boring and hiding from fun,” she continues. “I don’t expect to be jumping off speaker stacks or crowd surfing like I used to, but it’s still too soon to say never.”

Romanticize the Dive, the follow-up to 2023’s Formentera II, is due out April 24. It also includes the single “Victim of Luck.”

Metric will launch a U.S. tour in June.

Billy Morrison announces new album featuring Sully Erna, Duff McKagan, Marilyn Manson & more

Billy Idol guitarist Billy Morrison has announced a new solo album featuring a whole bunch of guests.

The record, titled Hollow, is due out in August and includes contributions from Godsmack frontman Sully Erna, Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan, Marilyn Manson, Dexter Holland of The Offspring, Extreme guitarist Nuno Bettencourt, Billy Idol’s Steve Stevens and rappers Chuck D, B-Real and DMC.

The first single is called “Becoming” and will feature Erna and Bettencourt. It’ll premiere on March 27.

“The guests on this record are at the core of the collaborative spirit that I try to put in the center of these records,” Morrison says in a statement. “Every single person I worked with stepped up, brought their A game and helped me produce an album that crosses genres, features some really diverse songwriting, and yet has a truly cohesive, and powerful sound.”

He adds, “Ultimately, I am just grateful to everyone involved for allowing me to do this again.”

Hollow follows Morrison’s 2024 effort, The Morrison Project, which includes the Ozzy Osbourne collaboration “Crack Cocaine.”
