If the colors of the gown Ariana Grande wears in her Saturday Night Live promos look like they’re from the ’70s, that’s because they are. The dress is a Bob Mackie design originally worn by legendary comic actress Carol Burnett during the opening monologue of a 1973 episode of The Carol Burnett Show. Ari posted a photo of Burnett wearing the original dress in the episode. One fan commented, “A comedy queen honoring a comedy queen.”

Thursday, Dec. 18, was Billie Eilish‘s 24th birthday, and her brother, FINNEAS, posted a heartfelt tribute to her on Instagram. “Such a privilege as someone who couldn’t love their sister more, to know that I share that love and admiration with so many people around the world. You all know so much about what makes billie such an incredibly special wonderful person and if you knew even more, you would only love her even more, as I do,” FINNEAS wrote.”Nothing I’m more proud to be than your big brother.” Billie responded, “love you so so much.”

The “Golden” girls of KPop Demon Hunters — Audrey Nuna, Rei Ami and EJAE — will be joining Snoop Dogg on Dec. 25 as part of the 2025 NFL Christmas Gameday halftime show on Netflix. Also on the bill: country superstar Lainey Wilson. The game features the Detroit Lions vs. Minnesota Vikings and will stream live from U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

If Rock Hall Chairman John Sykes had his way, according to VultureMariah Carey, Usher, Lenny Kravitz and Sting would be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame next. Sykes, however, isn’t in charge of who gets in. That’s up to the voters.

The final installment of the three-part YouTube series looking back at Freddie Mercury’s debut solo album, Mr Bad Guy, has just been released, and it focuses on the songs on the album.

Once again, the clip features archival footage of the Queen frontman’s 1985 interview with journalist David Wigg. When asked what song he finds most rewarding, Freddie has a hard time picking a favorite.

“Oh, I don’t know, the one that sells the most,” he quips, before giving a more thoughtful response.

“To me, this is a rewarding album. I think it’s a collection of songs which seem to sort of get in a groove,” he says. “And to me I couldn’t single out one song, because, at this point in time, I seem to be liking a different song every day.”

There are several songs about love on the album, and Mercury reveals whether that means he’s a romantic at heart.

“Well, I guess so,” he says, “but I just like writing songs about love because there’s so much scope and also they have so much to do with me.”

Mercury’s Mr Bad Guy was recently reissued in celebration of the 40th anniversary of its release. It was reissued on 180-gram translucent green vinyl featuring a 2019 mix by Queen’s longtime sound team, Justin Shirley-Smith and Joshua J. Macrae. The mix originally appeared on the Mercury box set Never Boring.

Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, is headed to Italy in summer 2026 for his first live solo performance in the country. He’ll be playing at the RCF Arena in Reggio Emilia on July 18, as part of the Hellwatt Festival, taking place over three weekends from July 4 through July 18. The venue is said to seat up to 103,000 spectators.

“Europe just got louder,” the venue said on social media, teasing a performance that Ticketmaster “promises to be the biggest show of his career.” An early bird presale kicks off Monday at 10 a.m. CT via Ticketmaster.

Ye’s last solo performance in Europe was in 2014 during his Yeezus tour. More recently, in 2023, he surprised fans at Travis Scott‘s Circus Maximus concert in Rome, Italy.

The announcement of Ye’s Italy show comes after he was slated to perform at the Rubicon Festival in Slovakia in July 2025, which was cancelled amid backlash following his antisemitic comments.

“It is with regret that we announce: Rubicon Festival will not take place this year,” the festival’s organizers wrote on Instagram at the time. “This was not an easy decision. Due to media pressure and the withdrawal of several artists and partners, we were unable to deliver the festival at the standard of quality you deserve.”

News of Ye’s performance also arrives days after a documentary about him made its streaming debut. Nico BallesterosIn Whose Name? is now available to stream on VOD platforms including Apple, Amazon, Google/YouTube and Fandango.

Every year in the U.K., many artists vie for the coveted “Christmas #1,” the song that tops the official singles chart on Dec. 25. For the first time in her nearly 40-year career, Kylie Minogue can now claim that dinstinction.

Kylie, who’s Australian, has been ruling the U.K. charts since the ’80s, but a solo Christmas #1 had long eluded her. The changed this year wit “XMAS,” an Amazon Music Original that’s one of several new songs on the 10th anniversary edition of her album Kylie Christmas. The song has also charted in the U.S. this holiday season.

“It’s hard to put into words how special this feels. Being Christmas Number 1 really is the most wonderful gift!” Kylie told OfficialCharts.com. “I’m so thankful to everyone who’s been listening and sharing the love and I’m wishing you all a very Merry Christmas!”

Kylie is now the first female artist who’s scored #1 hits in the U.K. across four different decades: the ’80s, 90s, 2000s and 2020s. Overall, “XMAS” marks her first #1 single since 2003’s “Slow.”

Meanwhile, Wham!‘s “Last Christmas,” which held the Christmas#1 in 2023 and 2024, has to settle for #2, followed by Mariah Carey‘s “All I Want for Christmas” at #3.

Addison Rae has spent the year confounding people’s expectations.

Critics certainly didn’t expect to like her debut album, Addison, but it earned rave reviews and a nomination for best new artist at the Grammy Awards in February. Addison tells the Los Angeles Times that she’s used to being underestimated.

“I’ve actually gotten really comfortable in this space of everyone thinking that everything I do will be mediocre and me doing something better than that and them being surprised,” she tells the paper. “People were very skeptical — even people that are choosing to embrace me now. Which is nice. I’m glad they’ve changed their mind.”

Even Addison’s record company wasn’t entirely on board as record execs weren’t sold on her choice for the lead single. “The label definitely wasn’t keen on ‘Diet Pepsi’ being the first [single],” she shares. “They were like, ‘We don’t think this is what people are expecting from you.’”

Asked what she thought people expected her music to sound like, she says, “Bad? Bad or soulless or maybe just a little more shallow, I guess.”

She ultimately had the last laugh with her Grammy nomination, which she says “shocked” her.

Addressing that fake thank-you letter to the Recording Academy that circulated online — a note falsely attributed to her that made her sound uneducated  — she said, “Oh my God, I saw it. By the way, people believed that. Maybe I would have too — I’m really gullible. Nobody has any idea what’s real.”

Coheed and Cambria has premiered the video for “One Last Miracle,” a track off the band’s latest album, The Father of Make Believe.

The clip is a sequel to Coheed’s 2019 “Toys” video, which ended with an animated Santa Claus spanking Donald Trump. “One Last Miracle” picks up with Santa receiving a letter from a child whose mother was taken by ICE. He then teams up with Krampus to “help him not only return the child’s mother, but to end this nonsense for all,” a press release says.

“The algorithm knows what bothers me,” says frontman Claudio Sanchez. “The non-stop scrolling through families being violently torn apart, children abandoned to fend for themselves, while their mothers are violently dragged away by men three times their size is upsetting.”

“No political agenda is worth this twist of humanity’s moral compass,” he continues. “If there is a God… I guarantee you… she doesn’t approve.”

The end of the press release declares, “It’s good to know that if Congress isn’t willing to stand up to tyranny, Santa will.”

You can watch the “One Last Miracle” video on YouTube.

Miranda Lambert couldn’t be prouder of Ella Langley.

“Y’all sure are ‘Choosin’ Texas,’” Miranda wrote on her socials on Friday. “Proud of this song @ellalangleymusic.”

Miranda is personally involved with the tune, having both co-written and co-produced it.

It’s a collaboration that seems to working incredibly well, since “Choosin’ Texas” managed to make it to #9 on the country chart in only six weeks. That’s the fastest a solo female artist has made it to the top 10 this decade, according the graphic included in Miranda’s post.

Of course, Ella’s also at #1 this week with “Don’t Mind If I Do” with Riley Green

Pink Floyd lands UK Christmas #1 album with ‘Wish You Were Here 50’

Pink Floyd’s 50th anniversary Wish You Were Here reissue has nabbed the top spot on the U.K. Official Albums chart, making Wish You Were Here 50 this year’s Official Christmas #1 album.

It’s been over 50 years since the original album topped the U.K. albums chart, which now gives Pink Floyd the record for the longest span between their first chart topper and their last. That title was previously held by The Beatles with 49 years and 252 days between Abbey Road, their first #1, and Number 1s, their last.

And for a band that’s been around since 1965, Pink Floyd is proving to still dominate the charts, as Wish You Were Here 50 is actually their second #1 of 2025. It follows Pink Floyd at Pompeii – MCMLXXII, the soundtrack to their concert film, which was released earlier this year. It’s actually the first time Pink Floyd has had two #1 albums in the same year.

As for Christmas chart-toppers, while this is their first Official Christmas #1 album, in 1979 Pink Floyd had the Christmas #1 single with “Another Brick in the Wall, Pt. 2.”

And speaking of Wish You Were Here, Pink Floyd has just released the official video for the album’s iconic title track, featuring archival footage of the band, animated visuals and more.
