HUNTR/X, Shaboozey & more to perform at Oscars ceremony

The Oscars are always gold, but this year, they’re going to be “Golden.”

“Golden,” the KPop Demon Hunters hit that’s nominated for best original song, will be performed on the telecast by the voices of HUNTR/X: EJAE, Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami.

Also performing will be Sinners star Miles Caton: He’ll sing the best original song nominee “I Lied to You,” along with one of the song’s co-writers, Raphael Saadiq. They’ll be joined by a host of other artists in what a press release describes as “an homage to the film’s singular visual style.” Those artists include Shaboozey, Alabama Shakes singer Brittany Howard, blues legends Bobby Rush and Buddy Guy and ballerina Misty Copeland.

In addition, Josh Groban, whose forthcoming album will feature him singing famous songs from movies, will perform with the Los Angeles Master Chorale.

The other best original song nominees are “Dear Me,” written by Diane Warren and performed by Kesha, from the documentary Diane Warren: Relentless; “Train Dreams,” from the movie of the same name, written and recorded by Nick Cave and Bryce Dessner; and “Sweet Dreams of Joy,” from Viva Verdi!, written by Nicholas Pike and recorded by Ana Maria Martinez.

The 98th Academy Awards, hosted by Conan O’Brien, air Sunday, March 15 at 7 p.m. on ABC and stream on Hulu.

These are her stories: From ‘Law & Order’ to ‘Hope Valley,’ Jill Hennessy brings her life to the concert stage

Jill Hennessy, best known for her roles in Crossing Jordan and Law & Order, is starring in Hope Valley: 1874, the new prequel to Hallmark’s When Calls the Heart. But Hennessy, who’s also a singer-songwriter, has also been flying from the show’s Canadian set to New York City to play a concert series at City Winery, with the next one scheduled for Thursday.

The concert series, called Ghosts In My Head: Stories from Edmonton to New York, sees Hennessy performing her own music, plus songs from her musical influences, such as U2, Bruce Springsteen and Taylor Swift. The goal, she says, is to create an autobiographical theater piece similar to Springsteen on Broadway.

“This will eventually become a one-woman show. … And right now it’s intimate, I’m talking with the audience, I’m telling them my stories,” Hennessy tells ABC Audio. “So I’m gonna look back at all this, see what was the most potent, what was the most relevant and then condense it all into one show.”

Hennessy says that even during her Law & Order years, her music was always present.

“I was bringing the guitar to set and we’d play at lunch hour,” she recalls. “We had the whole squad room filled with a lot of the crew and whatever guest actor was [on] and we’d just be singing. … And then on Crossing Jordan, I would play my songs for the hair and makeup crew to see what they thought.”

Hennessy says she’s been doing the same while filming Hope Valley, which premieres March 21.

“Sometimes I try out my material on them, too. Like, ‘I’m thinking of introducing this song with this. Do you think that’s resonant?'” she explains. “So I have to thank the whole cast and crew of Hope Valley because they have been incredibly helpful.”

Chrissie Hynde gives update on next Pretenders album

Chrissie Hynde is sharing some news about a new Pretenders album.

In a social media post Hynde gave fans some insight into what she’s been working on as the band’s been off the road, and that includes a new Pretenders album.

“(Guitarist) James Walbourne and I have been writing for the next one … provisionally called Outlaw. (yes I know there’s probably 1000 albums titled Outlaw),” she writes. “We start recording that in the next couple of months.”

In addition to the Pretenders album, Hynde says she’s working on two other projects, one with Moreno Veloso, Kassin Kassin and Domenico Lancellotti of the Brazilian band The +2s. The other is Valve Bone Woe Volume 2, a follow-up to her 2019 jazz-influenced solo album. She also said she’s working on another painting exhibit, which will be happening soon.

“I’m not trying to make a name for myself as a painter,” she writes. “I just like painting and there’s no point in just stacking them up in a warehouse, which is what I have been doing.”

The Pretenders haven’t played a show since July. In her post Chrissie also let fans know how she’s been feeling about being off the road.

“I’m finding not being on tour, pretty weird,” she offers. “I miss the band. I miss the backstage. I miss the dressing rooms. I miss the scaffolding. I miss the crew.”

She adds, “But most of all, I miss the CATERING. (Naw … I’m just f***** with ya’ll, most of all I miss YOU).”

Jennifer Hudson says set on Josh Groban tour will display different sides, teases new material on the road

Jennifer Hudson is gearing up to join Josh Groban on the road, and she says her set is going to be multifaceted.

“My voice is a tree of many branches. I am a music lover, as well as a singer [and] artist, so it’s going to display all of that, right? So yes, you may hear new material,” she tells People.

JHud also says she’s been getting inspiration from people in her close circle.

“My son is also a producer, and he’s been recreating some of my songs, so I’m inspired by that,” she says. “And then of course, the man Common, being around them both, they are so musical. It’s inspired me in so many unique ways. So that’s bringing out my artistry.”

Hudson is joining Groban for a few of the shows on his 2026 North American Summer tour, which kicks off June 2 in Montreal.

She’s also been working as producer on the Broadway revival of Dreamgirls, a story she wants to introduce to another generation of fans. Jennifer starred in the 2006 film adaptation of Dreamgirls, based on the original Broadway production.

“That’s a huge reason why I wanted to be a part of it, because it’s so life-changing and I can’t wait to just sit and witness the new Dreamettes and how life-changing it’ll be for them,” Jennifer previously told People. “And then to be able to look through the lens from a production, producer perspective is a dream for me.”

She added the musical will allow fans of the film or the original Broadway production “to be able to just experience it in a different way, I think it creates a whole new experience. I’m excited.”

Dreamgirls is set to open in fall 2026.

Muse hints at new music with binary code teaser

It seems as though “Time Is Running Out” before new Muse music arrives.

The “Supermassive Black Hole” rockers have released a teaser hinting at new material in their Instagram Story. The post includes a series of binary code printed over a lined piece of paper alongside a link to sign up for the band’s mailing list.

The most recent Muse album is 2022’s Will of the People, which spawned singles in “Won’t Stand Down,” “Kill or Be Killed,” “Compliance,” “You Make Me Feel Like It’s Halloween” and the title track.

Since then, Muse put out a new song, “Unravelling,” in 2025, along with a docuseries called With You dedicated to the band’s fans.

Muse will return to the live stage in July to perform at the Milwaukee Summerfest.

Third time’s a charm: Jon Pardi hopes ‘Boots Off’ takes off

Following his 2015 hit “Head Over Boots” and his 2016 hit “Dirt on My Boots,” Jon Pardi waited a whole decade to revisit the topic with his new single, “Boots Off.”

“It’s just a lot of fun. Sexy, fun song, good dancing song, got a great beat,” Jon says. “And it’s my third ‘boot’ song, why not? It’s been 10 years since the last one. Time flies, right?”

“Boots Off” is from Jon’s current album, Honkytonk Hollywood. Jon sings about how after a night out, he and his love interest are heading back home, where they’ll be “loving ’til the sun comes up” — which is why, he sings, “I can’t get my boots off quick enough.” But Jon says the song’s inspiration was a little less romantic than that.

“It all kind of started when I had trouble getting my boots off after a show,” he explains. “You know, [you] get a little sweaty, you got to get them off. And, you know, you got that sexy wife, like [my wife] Summer, and you’re getting ready, come home and then you’re struggling to get your boots off — it could be a problem.”

“That’s where this whole kind of funny [theme came up],” Jon says. “‘Can’t get my boots off quick enough to go for round two at the nighttime.'”

Jon starts the 2026 leg of his Honkytonk Hollywood tour with Ashley Cooke and Zach John King on March 20. On March 22, he’ll perform at the Houston Rodeo.

Harry Styles opens up about that time he cried in the club

Sometimes you just need to cry in the club.

In an interview for the Q with Tom Power podcast released Monday, Harry Styles details an emotional experience he had while on the dance floor of a Berlin club.

“It’s so baked in as part of Berlin culture that everyone deserves to go dancing and be free,” he says. “I was in a place where I just felt so safe, in a way, that I don’t think I had for a while in terms of really letting go.”

“And I remember standing in the middle of the dance floor and I had my hands up and I was kind of just breathing and I closed my eyes and I remember the feeling of, ‘Oh, I’m no longer scanning the room to see if anyone’s like, filming or anything,'” he recalls. “I just felt like, ‘Oh, I’m just on my own right now and I feel so free.'”

He says that feeling of freedom was “really emotional” for him, and he remembers “feeling tears roll down my face.”

It inspired Harry to try to capture that feeling in his new album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally. It was also part of his journey to open himself up to new experiences again.

Harry tells Power that while he was in One Direction, they were encouraged to give a lot of themselves in order to let people get to know them. Once he went solo, he started to become more private, until he began to feel like he was living in a bubble.

“The thing of like learning to set boundaries and stuff — a large part of that has also been learning when not to set boundaries and when to open up,” he says.

Warped Tour confirms full 2026 DC lineup

Warped Tour has confirmed the full lineup for its 2026 stop in Washington, D.C., taking place June 13-14.

The bill, which has been gradually revealed with new artist announcements every day over the past month, includes Jimmy Eat World, Coheed and Cambria, Rise Against, All That Remains, Flogging Molly, grandson, Hawthorne Heights, Hoobastank, KennyHoopla, Killswitch Engage, New Found Glory, Of Mice & Men, Plain White T’s, Sleeping with Sirens, Taking Back Sunday, The Paradox, The Used, Third Eye Blind, Underoath and Yellowcard.

The lineup poster also teases three more names to be announced.

Warped Tour returned in 2025 following a six-year hiatus. Along with D.C., the 2026 stops include July 25-26 in Long Beach, California; Aug. 21-22 in Montreal; Sept. 12-13 in Mexico City; and Nov. 14-15 in Orlando, Florida.

Ed Sheeran is set to make a guest appearance on Benny Blanco and Lil Dicky’s podcast, Friends Keep Secrets. The episode, which they teased on Instagram, drops Tuesday at 6 p.m. PT on YouTube and anywhere you get your podcasts.

And speaking of Benny Blanco, the music producer celebrated his 38th birthday on Sunday and his wife, Selena Gomez, celebrated him with an Instagram photo carousel. “happy birthday my love,” she wrote. “I love you with all my heart.”

Jordin Sparks has a new song called “Coming Back to Me” on the soundtrack for the upcoming animated film The Pout-Pout Fish. Jordin also voices a fish named Shimmer in the film, which is based on Deborah Diesen’s 2008 children’s book and hits theaters March 20.

Ye to perform at LA’s SoFi Stadium

Ye, formerly known as Kanye West, has added LA’s SoFi Stadium to his list of shows for 2026.

The show is scheduled for April 3. Tickets go on sale via an artist presale Tuesday at 10 a.m. PT, followed by a general sale beginning Wednesday at 10 a.m. PT.

The LA event will follow his show in New Delhi on March 29.

Ye is also set to perform in Istanbul, Turkey; Arnhem, Netherlands; Marseille, France; Reggio Emilia, Italy; and Madrid, Spain, between late May and the end of July.

The shows are seemingly part of the rollout for his album Bully, which has seen several delays since its original release date was announced. The latest update pushed the release back from March 20 to March 27, according to streaming services.
