Rod Stewart postpones Red Rocks shows after doctor prescribed vocal rest

Rod Stewart has postponed more shows as he recovers from vocal issues.

Stewart has moved his June 15 and 16 shows at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, Colorado, to Sept. 2 and 3, 2027. The venue announced the news on their social media pages.

“Following examinations at Colorado Voice Clinic this afternoon, Dr. David Opperman has prescribed vocal rest for Rod Stewart,” reads the post. “Evaluation revealed significant inflammation and strain of the vocal folds, making it impossible for him to safely perform without the risk of further injury and potential long-term damage to his voice.”

“Rod is deeply disappointed and sincerely apologizes to his fans for this inconvenience,” the post continues. “He looks forward to returning to the stage as soon as he is medically cleared.”

Stewart canceled his show in San Diego Friday, blaming an acute upper respiratory infection that resulted in laryngitis. Many fans were angry when, less than 24 hours later, he posted a video of him and sons Liam and Alastair Stewart flying to Boston to catch Scotland play in the World Cup. In the clip, he sounded somewhat congested but was still able to talk.

Stewart’s next scheduled show is happening June 19 in West Valley City, Utah.

Daughtry announces 20th anniversary unplugged tour

Daughtry has announced an acoustic tour celebrating the band’s 20th anniversary.

The trek, dubbed 20 Years Unplugged, kicks off Oct. 12 in Troy, New York, and wraps up Nov. 14 in Dallas.

“The tour will pull the band’s music into a more raw and immediate space, where the weight of a lyric, the scrape of a guitar string, and the quiet before a chorus can hit as hard as the full-band impact,” a press release reads.

Presales begin Wednesday at 10 a.m. local time, and tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday at 10 a.m. local time.

Daughtry formed in 2006 following frontman Chris Daughtry’s stint on American Idol. The band’s most recent release is their SHOCK TO THE SYSTEM album, which was released as two EPs over 2024 and 2025.

Johnny Marr announces new album, ‘The Age of Everything’

Johnny Marr has announced a new album called The Age of Everything.

The fifth solo effort from the former Smiths guitarist is due out Oct. 2. It’s the follow-up to 2022’s Fever Dreams Pts 1-4.

“This is the record that’s been the most cathartic,” Marr says in a statement. “The title came to me early in the process and became an inescapable idea. It seemed to sum up the way I think a lot of people are feeling. It’s all encompassing, but it’s not necessarily a negative statement.”

He adds, “There’s a sense of overwhelm in the culture brought about by technology, but looking at it with a different light, there could also be a sense of possibility.”

The album’s first single is called “Spin” and is out now.

On This Day, June 16, 1972: David Bowie released ‘The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars’

On This Day, June 16, 1972 …

David Bowie released his fifth studio album, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. The album featured such future Bowie classics as “Starman” and “Suffragette City.”

The tale of a bisexual alien rock star sent to save mankind initially received mixed reviews, but it was later hailed as one of the greatest, most influential albums of all time.

Bowie remained in character as Ziggy for his Ziggy Stardust Tour until it ended July 3, 1973, at London’s Odeon Theater. The final performance was filmed for a documentary/concert film, which was released in August 1979.

In 2023, to mark the 50th anniversary of that final show, a special world premiere screening of a restored version of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars: The Motion Picture took place at London’s Eventim Apollo Hammersmith, formerly known as the Odeon.

Eddie Vedder teases performance at opening ceremony for Obama Presidential Center

Eddie Vedder is teasing a performance during the upcoming opening ceremony for the Obama Presidential Center.

The Pearl Jam frontman posted a screenshot on his Instagram Story of a text message seemingly from former President Barack Obama, which reads, “Would you do me the honor of performing at our Grand Opening Ceremony?”

The exchange also includes a partying face emoji reaction to the message.

The Obama Foundation Instagram also posted a screenshot of the text without mentioning Vedder, adding in the caption, “The invitation has been sent,” alongside the looking eyes emoji.

The Obama Presidential Center opens Friday in Chicago. The opening ceremony will take place Thursday starting at 11 a.m. CT and will stream live online.

Vedder has long been a supporter of Obama. He performed ahead of his farewell address at the end of his presidency in 2017. Like Obama, Vedder also has roots in Chicago, having been born in Evanston, Illinois.

Taylor Swift makes prerecorded appearance on Travis’ podcast, spends hours in NYC studio

Taylor Swift didn’t attend the live taping of her fiancé Travis Kelce’s podcast on Monday, but she did appear in a prerecorded segment.

Several weeks ago on New Heights, Travis’ brother, Jason Kelce, and Jason’s wife, Kylie Kelce, said that Taylor had helped Travis, a picky eater, to become more adventurous with food. That conversation led the podcast’s producer, Brandon Borders, to joke that Taylor feeds Travis by making “little airplane noises,” as parents sometimes do with toddlers.

As per People, during the live taping, the audience was shown that particular segment, followed by a humorous prerecorded video in which Taylor appeared to feed Travis a forkful of food while making airplane noises.

Taylor wasn’t at the LA taping. For the past week, she has been in New York City, where she watched Game 4 of the NBA Finals, got inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, saw the Broadway play Oh, Mary! and may possibly be recording new music. E! Online reports that Taylor went to Electric Lady Studios at 8:30 p.m. Monday and didn’t emerge until 6 a.m. the following morning, accompanied by her pals Alana and Danielle Haim of the band HAIM.

Meanwhile, her Toy Story 5 song, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” is #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Lainey Wilson had her ‘Phone, Keys, Wallet’ before the ‘Whirlwind’ struck

Lainey Wilson’s got her “Phone, Keys, Wallet” and she’s getting ready to unlock the new music she’s been working on for quite awhile.

And it sounds like her new radio single featuring John Mayer is just the beginning.

“To tell you the truth, we were already in the kitchen cooking it up before Whirlwind was even out,” Lainey reveals. “I feel like we’re always writing because I don’t feel like I’m myself if I’m not creating and writing. I feel that’s the thing that like gets me through all the busyness and all the other parts of the job that exist.”

Whirlwind came out in August 2024, which would mean she’s already been crafting her new music for nearly two years.

“I think people are really gonna love what we’ve been working on,” she continues. “I mean, of course I’m partial, but I think it definitely is gonna like show another side of my artistry while always staying true to myself. But the more life I live, the more experience I have, the more I realize I’ve got more to say and share, and it’s gonna be good.”

“Phone, Keys, Wallet” is already a top-30 country hit.

K Camp on new album: ‘I feel like I’m a giant’

K Camp has a new album out titled Giant. Speaking to ABC Audio, he says the title reflects how he sees himself and the legacy he’s building.

“What I stand for, the culture, my impact in the culture. How I carry myself on the music side, on the personal side and the business side. I feel like I’m a giant,” he says.

The album follows previous projects Kiss 6 and Built Different, which he says are all part of a larger story.

“When I made Built Different, I was like … I’m doing this independent s*** for real, like on a high level. So I got to be built different. I got be moving a different way from these n***** who say they doing it, but ain’t really doing it.”

That mindset eventually led to Giant.

“Now I’m like, OK, I really do what I said I was doing and what I wrote on them vision boards,” he says. “I put my money where my mouth is, I invest in everything I do, and I stand on 10 when it comes to my business and my music, so I feel like that’s just giant s***.”

Giant is a collaboration with producer Zaytoven and features fellow Atlanta artists, including 2 Chainz, as a tribute to his hometown.

“I got the free range and creativity to do what I want, how I want to,” he says of why he decided to honor his city with the project. “When I get that feeling, I don’t really go against it. … I feel like it’s the right thing to do at that moment, I got to do it.”

New Gregg Allman documentary shows the rock star ‘without any secrets,’ according to director

The new documentary Gregg Allman: The Music of My Soul opens in theaters Wednesday, giving fans insight into the legendary Allman Brothers Band frontman.

For the film’s producer Michael Lehman, a good friend of the rocker’s, getting Gregg’s life on the big screen was important in order to show fans who he really was.

“The story about Gregg Allman is incredible,” Lehman tells ABC Audio, noting while fans saw Gregg as a rock star, “that’s really not who Gregg was.”

“Gregg was a quiet, shy, Southern gentleman [who] was the furthest thing in his mind from a rock star,” he says. “And I wanted the world to have the opportunity to learn about the man.”

The film’s centered around a previously unseen 2014 interview with Gregg. Lehman says it was shot after he knew he was sick with cancer and was “entering what would be the final stages of his life.”

The film’s director, James Keach, says as a filmmaker, the interview was “pure gold.”

“You get to see Gregg Allman without any secrets,” he says. “He’s at a time in his life [when] he doesn’t have to hide anything. So as an audience, he doesn’t hide anything from us.”

The film delves into the early days of the Allman Brothers, as well as the death of Gregg’s brother and bandmate Duane Allman in 1971, and how that affected the rocker’s life. It also explores Gregg’s many marriages, his addiction problems and what Keach calls the “beautiful redemption” of Gregg cleaning up his life.

It also features interviews with artists like Warren Haynes, Jackson Browne and Jaimoe, the last surviving founding member of the Allman Brothers. Keach calls it “a great tribute” to Gregg.

“I never got the feeling that anybody was ever jealous,” he says. “They were very grateful that they got to play with him.”

Foo Fighters announce debut concerts in India

Foo Fighters are set to perform in India for the first time.

Dave Grohl and company will play their debut concerts on the subcontinent in early 2027 on Jan. 29 in Bangalore and Jan. 31 in Mumbai.

The Pretty Reckless will also be on the bill for both shows.
