In addition to being an Oscar-nominated actress, Kate Hudson is a singer who released her debut album, Glorious, in 2024. Now she’s dropped a holiday single that finds her covering a Christmas rock classic.

Hudson recorded The Band‘s song “Christmas Must Be Tonight,” which originally appeared on their 1977 album, Islands. It was their last album to feature the group’s original lineup. It was written by The Band’s guitarist, Robbie Robertson, and was partly inspired by the birth of his son. He later recorded a solo version for the soundtrack of the 1988 Bill Murray movie Scrooged.

“When you speak of The Band, you are speaking directly to the heart, soul and backbone of rock’s roots,” Hudson says in a statement, calling the group’s music “organic,” “breathtaking” and “real.” She adds, “It was an honor to re-record it.”

The next three hosts of Saturday Night Live season 51 have been revealed.

NBC has announced that Miles Teller, Nikki Glaser and Glen Powell are set to host three episodes of the late-night sketch comedy series in November.

Teller will take over hosting duties for the second time on the Nov. 1 episode of the show. Brandi Carlile joins him as the musical guest for her third individual appearance on the program and fourth musical guest gig overall.

Glaser is set to make her SNL hosting debut on the Nov. 8 episode. The comedian will be joined by sombr as the musical guest. He also makes his first appearance on the show just as his breakout song “back to friends” has crossed 1 billion streams.

Glaser posted the news about her hosting gig to Instagram. “SCHWING!! @nbcsnl,” she captioned her post.

Also making his SNL hosting debut is Powell. The actor will host for the first time on the Nov. 15 episode, while musician Olivia Dean will join him to make her musical guest debut.

SNL returns live on Saturday when Sabrina Carpenter will serve as both the host and musical guest.

Even more stars have joined the third season of Euphoria.

HBO has released the full cast of the upcoming third season of the hit drama series, which returns with eight new episodes in spring 2026.

Among the new talent joining the cast are Danielle Deadwyler, Natasha Lyonne, Trisha Paytas, Cailyn Rice, Eli Roth, Gideon Adlon, Hemky Madera, Homer Gere, Jack Topalian, Jessica Blair Herman, Kwame Patterson, Madison Thompson, Matthew Willig, Rebecca Pidgeon and Sam Trammell.

Also confirmed to return in season 3 are Dominic Fike, Nika King, Alanna Ubach, Daeg Faerch, Melvin Bonez Estes, Paula Marshall, Sophia Rose Wilson and Zak Steiner.

HBO made the casting announcement in a post shared to Instagram on Friday. Along with posting a graphic confirming the new actors joining the series, the network shared a first-look image of Deadwyler in costume.

“#Euphoria Season 3 is coming Spring 2026,” the account captioned the post.

The show’s stars, including Zendaya, Hunter Schafer, Eric Dane, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, Martha Kelly, Chloe Cherry and Colman Domingo, were previously announced to be returning for season 3 back in February.

Other newcomers previously announced to be joining along for season 3 include Sharon Stone, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Toby Wallace, Rosalía, Marshawn Lynch, Darrell Britt-Gibson, Kadeem Hardison, James Landry Hébert, Anna Van Patten and Asante Blackk.

Sam Levinson created Euphoria and continues at its helm for season 3. This time around, the show will feature a time jump that brings its main characters out of high school.

The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon airs its season 3 finale on Sunday, nearly 15 years since the original Walking Dead series premiered on Oct. 31, 2010.

Norman Reedus plays Daryl and is one of only a few actors who’s remained in The Walking Dead universe over those 15 years. He says it has been an honor fighting zombies all this time.

“It’s been a great opportunity to be able to play this character this long and keep him interesting, and be interested in it. It’s taught me a lot,” Reedus tells ABC Audio.

Melissa McBride also returned for season 3. She plays fan-favorite Carol from the original show, who met up with Daryl in France in season 2 of Daryl Dixon.

“Melissa and I have that kind of a relationship where we are really close,” says Reedus. “When we’re in a scene together I know it’s going to work.”

Fans have long speculated about a relationship between their two characters, but Reedus says he’s glad the writers prioritized their friendship.

“I’m glad that we never went down that road of, ‘We’re together, we’re a couple.’ … They value their friendship so much that — why mess with it?” he says.

He also discovered how global The Walking Dead fanbase has become while filming in Spain this season.

“The Spanish people—they’re very passionate,” says Reedus. “They like to hug, they like to talk, they like to smile, they like to have conversations. It’s really fun to be there and work there.”

As for the future of the show, Reedus says fans should expect to see a more introspective side of Daryl in season 4.

“Daryl goes deep deep inside himself,” he says, referencing a conversation from early this season. “All we do is run and fight — maybe there’s a better way to live.’”

George Clooney has found his next project.

The actor will star alongside Annette Bening in the upcoming film In Love. Oscar nominee Paul Weitz will direct the stars from a script based on Amy Bloom‘s New York Times bestseller, In Love: A Memoir of Love and Loss.

The film studio Anton announced the project on its official Instagram on Thursday, where it described the upcoming film as “an illuminating modern love story.”

“A profound, emotionally honest, and uplifting celebration of life and love,” the post’s caption described the upcoming film.

The post also included a graphic with a quote from Weitz about the project.

“Amy’s memoir is a contemporary fable of love, wit and existential stakes,” Weitz said.

Bloom’s memoir follows how she lost her husband to Alzheimer’s, and how the pair made the decision to travel to Switzerland to end his life. It also details Bloom’s struggle to continue on living as a widow. The memoir was named TIME magazine’s #1 best nonfiction book and was included on the outlet’s 100 must-read books list.

Jennifer Lopez has revealed her favorite person to smooch on the big screen.

The actress and singer appeared on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen on Wednesday, where the host asked her to name her favorite person she has ever had to kiss for a movie.

“We have George Clooney, Matthew McConaughey, Ralph Fiennes, Richard Gere, Owen Wilson, Josh Lucas, it goes on and on,” Cohen said. “Plus movies which are in the can waiting to come out!”

Lopez’s answer happened to be a much more recent smooch.

“I’m gonna say my favorite — I just did a movie with Brett Goldstein and I’d say he was the best kisser,” Lopez said.

Lopez stars alongside Goldstein in the upcoming romantic comedy Office Romance.

The Netflix film was written by Goldstein and Joe Kelly and helmed by Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again director Ol Parker.

Goldstein spoke to Netflix back in April about working on the project.

“Every day I come to work to do a rom-com with Jennifer Lopez and this incredible cast, and I expect people to jump out and tell me I’m being pranked,” Goldstein said. “Hasn’t happened yet, so maybe this is real?”

Betty Gilpin co-stars in the film that also features Edward James Olmos, who portrayed Lopez’s father in the 1997 film Selena. He plays the actress’s onscreen father again in Office Romance.

Jon M. Chu has revealed that a celebrated actor will voice the Cowardly Lion in Wicked: For Good.

The director described how he selected the mystery actor to voice the iconic character in an interview with Deadline shared on Thursday. Chu says he sent the star a direct message on Instagram asking him to be part of the Wicked sequel.

“I was like, ‘It’s not a ton of lines, but maybe you have a little time. I know you’re busy. I’ll come to you.’ He was like, ‘Why the f*** not, let’s go!’ And then we went ahead and recorded the lines.”

Chu is excited for the rest of the world to find out who is voicing the character.

“Man, wait until the red carpet when the actor who gave us the Cowardly Lion’s voice steps foot on it. It’ll be wild,” Chu said.

The Cowardly Lion was a main character in the classic 1939 film The Wizard of Oz. He was portrayed by Bert Lahr. The character was teased in the most recent trailer for Wicked: For Good, which was released on Sept. 24.

Wicked: For Good arrives in theaters on Nov. 21.

The cause of death of Oscar-winning actress Diane Keaton has reportedly been revealed.

Keaton, 79, died on Oct. 11 of pneumonia, according to People magazine, which cited a statement from the actress’ family. The statement also expressed thanks for “the extraordinary messages of love and support” from fans following her death.

Details were not immediately available when her death was confirmed on Saturday.

At the time, the Los Angeles Fire Department said it responded to a medical call to Keaton’s Brentwood home at 8:08 a.m. local time on Saturday and took a patient to the hospital.

Keaton rose to fame in the 1970s with her role as Kay Adams in The Godfather films, and, in 1978, she won the Academy Award for best actress for her performance in Annie Hall.

She is also known for her roles in Play It Again, Sam, Baby Boom, The First Wives Club and the Book Club franchise.

She told ABC News in 2022 that she had been “very fortunate to have many opportunities that came my way.”

She said, “What made my life interesting was I had freedom. You know, that I had the opportunity to make my choices with time as it went on.”

Upon learning the news of Keaton’s death, many across Hollywood mourned the actress on social media, including her co-stars over the years, like Mary Steenburgen, Goldie Hawn and filmmaker Nancy Meyers, who worked with Keaton on Something’s Gotta Give and Father of the Bride.

The family’s statement published by People went on to say: “She loved her animals and she was steadfast in her support of the unhoused community, so any donations in her memory to a local food bank or an animal shelter would be a wonderful and much appreciated tribute to her.”
