After starring in Wicked — and receiving an Oscar nomination for her performance — Ariana Grande will get to show off her comedic chops on the big screen once again.

Deadline reports that Ariana has joined the cast of Meet the Parents 4, the next installment in the Ben Stiller/Robert De Niro comedy franchise. The movie is expected to arrive Nov. 25, 2026, just over a year after Ariana’s Wicked: For Good hits theaters.

In addition to Stiller and De Niro, original cast members Teri Polo and Blythe Danner are returning for the film, which is being directed and written by John Hamburg, who co-wrote the three previous installments. Plot details are being kept under wraps, as well as details about who Ariana will play in the film.

Overall, the three Meet the Parents films — the 2000 original, the 2004 sequel Meet the Fockers and 2010’s Little Fockers — have grossed $1.13 billion worldwide, according to Deadline.

Meryl Streep is returning for season 5 of Only Murders in the Building.

That’s all.

On Thursday, the Academy Award winner appeared in a video with Selena Gomez to mark her return to the beloved Hulu series.

In the video, the duo recreate a famous scene from The Devil Wears Prada, in which Streep starred alongside Anne Hathaway. In the original scene, Streep’s character Miranda Priestly remarks on Hathaway’s character Andy Sachs’ clothing choices, stating that she has “no style or sense of fashion.” Andy begins to respond, before Miranda interrupts her and states that she wasn’t asking a question.

In Thursday’s video, Gomez, standing next to Streep, states flatly, “So you’re coming back for season 5.”

Streep, channeling Hathaway’s Devil Wears Prada character, replies, “Well, I think that depends on–“

Before she finishes her sentence, Gomez interjects, “No, no, that wasn’t a question.”

The caption of the video also gave a nod to the 2006 film.

“Gird your loins, Meryl is returning for Season 5! That’s all,” the caption read.

Only Murders in the Building was picked up for a fifth season at Hulu in September 2024, following the premiere of its fourth season. In addition to Streep and Gomez, the show stars Martin Short and Steve Martin.

The series follows friends Oliver Putnam (Short), Charles-Haden Savage (Martin) and Mabel Mora (Gomez), who investigate a series of suspicious murders in their upscale apartment building, The Arconia, in New York City. Streep portrays Loretta Durkin, an actress.

In March, it was announced that Renée Zellweger would also join the star-studded cast.

The new season is currently in production.

Disney is the parent company of Hulu, ABC News and “Good Morning America.”

‘Bring Her Back’ brings on the scares

Horror directing duo Danny Philippou and Michael Philippou are back for another round of scares with Bring Her Back. The film follows Piper, a vision-impaired teenager played by Sora Wong, and her older brother Andy, played by Billy Barratt. After the death of their father, the two are forced to live with a foster parent, played by Sally Hawkins.

Danny says the senses play a major role in how they filmed the movie.

“There was a visual language for every character, and there was also an audio language that, like, accompanied everyone,” says Danny. “With Piper, to really get close up on the hand and convey touch.”

Wong is a person with low vision, which Barratt says played a role in how the two formed their onscreen sibling bond as Piper and Andy.

“There were days where she’d wear, like, a mask so it blocked her vision completely, and we’d link arms and I’d sort of practice telling her what our surroundings were,” Barratt says.

Bring Her Back is Wong’s first acting credit.

“At the start, I think I couldn’t disassociate myself with Piper, and that’s, like, not great because you can get lost in the character,” says Wong. “Towards the end it was like I could become me, and then I could turn into Piper.”

Bring Her Back follows Danny and Michael’s 2022 film, Talk to Me, and both feature important scenes set at a house party. Danny tells ABC Audio it’s important to show characters having fun, even under horrific circumstances.

“I like that both films have a montage that in one lens you can look at it and go, ‘Oh, that’s really fun.’ And then you look at it through another lens, you’re like, ‘Actually that’s a little bit messed up,’” he says.

She’s still all that.

Rachael Leigh Cook and Freddie Prinze Jr. are reuniting in the upcoming holiday film The Christmas Affair. Cook confirmed the news in a post shared to Instagram on Thursday.

“I [heart] Freddie, my FOX Family, New York and Christmas,” Cook captioned her post, which included a screenshot of Deadline‘s article about the news. “I could not be more excited to announce this !!!”

Cook and Prinze will play superstar sportscasters Natalie and Gabe in The Christmas Affair. The pair form an unlikely alliance with each other after their respective spouses are caught cheating on them weeks before Christmas.

“As holiday chaos and media attention mount, they begin to fall for each other,” the official synopsis reads. “But is this just a rebound…or the start of a real Christmas romance?”

Cook and Prinze starred as lovebirds Laney and Zack in the 1999 rom-com She’s All That. This new film marks their second collaboration and comes over two decades after they acted alongside each other in the ’90s classic. Both actors will also executive produce The Christmas Affair.

Jennifer Gibgot, who co-produced She’s All That, will also produce The Christmas Affair for Fox Entertainment Studios. Fox’s head of scripted, Hannah Pillemer, said the company is excited to grant the Christmas wish of rom-com fans with Cook and Prinze returning to the silver screen together.

“This iconic couple stole our hearts over 25 years ago, and we are grateful to work with them on this all-new romantic comedy filled with holiday magic,” Pillemer told Deadline.

Prinze’s wife, Sarah Michelle Gellar, also shared the news to her Instagram Story. “So excited for this,” she wrote alongside a link to Cook’s post.

Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence are officially part of the same family.

During an appearance on The Jennifer Hudson Show on Thursday, Eddie Murphy revealed that his son Eric Murphy married Martin Lawrence’s daughter Jasmin Page Lawrence about “two weeks ago” in an intimate church ceremony.

“Everybody was making the big wedding plans, and then they decided they wanted to do something quiet with just the two of them,” Eddie Murphy said.

The actor said the couple decided to skip the extravagant ceremony in favor of a smaller wedding.

“We’re in-laws,” Eddie Murphy said of Martin Lawerence. “He don’t have to pay for the big wedding now.”

Eddie Murphy said the wedding was so small, in fact, he wasn’t even in attendance at the ceremony.

“They went off and they got married at the church. They just had the two of them and the preacher. They had a quiet little thing,” Eddie Murphy said. “So I think we’ll have a big party or something.”

Hudson asked Eddie Murphy if he would be interested in another film collaboration with his new in-law.

“There’s a bunch of ideas that we have,” Eddie Murphy said. “[It’s a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World] is an old movie from the ’60s that I want to remake and do with all funniest, like, a who’s who of Black comics. That’s what I want to do. And, of course, Martin would be in that.”

Eric Murphy proposed to Jasmin Page Lawrence on Nov. 27, 2024. The pair revealed their engagement in a video shared to Instagram.

“We’re engaged!! God truly blessed us with a love that feels like destiny. We couldn’t be more excited for this next chapter,” Jasmin wrote in the caption of the couple’s collaborated post.

Jenna Ortega found superstardom thanks to the Netflix series Wednesday. In a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar, the actress is opening up about how her life changed after the hit show.

“To be quite frank, after the show and trying to figure everything out, I was an unhappy person,” Ortega said. “After the pressure, the attention — as somebody who’s quite introverted, that was so intense and so scary.”

Ortega said she felt “incredibly misunderstood” at the height of her fame.

“I feel like being a bully is very popular right now,” Ortega said. “Having been on the wrong side of the rumor mill was incredibly eye-opening.”

Ortega also described several positives to her starring role of Wednesday Addams.

“I definitely feel like I have a bit more Gothic taste than I did when I was a teenager. I’ve always been into dark things or been fascinated by them, but I was a Disney kid, and the whole thing is being bubbly and kind and overly sweet,” Ortega said.

But with some positives also came a few negatives.

“I’m doing a show I’m going to be doing for years where I play a schoolgirl. But I’m also a young woman,” Ortega said. “It’s like how you’re dressed in the schoolgirl costume. There’s just something about it that’s very patronizing. Also, when you’re short, people are already physically looking down on you.”

All of this being said, Ortega says she is very grateful for the fans she’s acquired through Wednesday.

“I want to be able to give back to them. But I also want to do things that are creatively fulfilling to me,” Ortega said. “So it’s finding that balance of doing movies that they might be interested in and then doing movies that I’m interested in.”
