Selena Gomez and Timothée Chalamet — or at least their voices — co-star in the upcoming animated film Not Alone. On Tuesday Selena posted a trailer for the film on Instagram, so you can see what their characters look like.

As previously reported, Timothée plays an introverted rocket mechanic named Joe, who meets Selena’s character, Fran, a “brilliant astro-botanist” who’s created a rocket that runs on plant-based fuel. Things get complicated when three aliens plot to commandeer Fran’s rocket to return to their home planet.

In the trailer, set to David Bowie’s classic “A Space Oddity,” Joe and Fran meet while working on the rocket and start a romance, which thrills them both — until the aliens, who all have British accents for some reason, show up.

This is the second time the two have co-starred in a film; the first time was in 2020’s A Rainy Day in New York. 

Not Alone arrives in theaters in April 2027. It’s from the same studio that brought you the Despicable Me, Minions and Super Mario Brothers movies.

There’s nothing theoretical about a Love, Theoretically film.

Amazon MGM Studios has landed the movie rights to the novel by bestselling author Ali Hazelwood. To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before screenwriter Sofia Alvarez is set to direct the film and adapt Hazelwood’s book into the screenplay. Both Alvarez and Hazelwood will executive produce it.

It Ends with Us author Colleen Hoover is set to produce the movie with Lauren Levine, her partner at Heartbones Entertainment. Also producing are Max Siemers and Tanner Anderson for Magic Hour Entertainment.

The upcoming film was confirmed by Magic Hour Entertainment on Monday. The production company made a post to Instagram announcing the project.

“The excitement we have for LOVE, THEORETICALLY is not at all theoretical! We’re incredibly grateful to partner with Amazon MGM Studios and to work again with the brilliant Sofia Alvarez,” the company’s post reads. “It’s a privilege and joy to continue to collaborate with Lauren Levine and Colleen Hoover at Heartbones. Most of all, the film we hope you’ll fall in love with exists because of the immense talent and imagination of Ali Hazelwood.”

The news comes ahead of the release of the film adaptation of Hazelwood’s first novel, The Love Hypothesis. It stars Lili Reinhart and Tom Bateman and will release to Prime Video on Sept. 23.

Love, Theoretically is a romantic comedy that follows rival physicists. It centers around one woman’s double life as both an adjunct professor and a professional fake girlfriend.

Alicia Vikander has joined the cast of the upcoming Netflix series Enigma Variations. The show is based on the bestselling novel by André Aciman. Vikander is set to play Claire in the series. Amanda Batula is saying goodbye to Summer House.

The reality TV star is exiting the Bravo series and will not appear in its upcoming season 11 after nine seasons as a full-time cast member, according to Deadline.

ABC Audio has reached out to Bravo for confirmation.

The 10th season of Summer House captured the zeitgeist due to a scandal that has been given the colloquial name “Scamanda.”

After months of rumors, Batula and West Wilson confirmed they are in a relationship in posts made to Instagram on March 31. Batula is married to Summer House cast member Kyle Cooke, although they are divorcing. Wilson is fellow Summer House star Ciara Miller’s ex-boyfriend, and Batula was considered one of Miller’s close friends.

Wilson will also not return to Summer House for season 11, according to the outlet.

Although Batula is exiting Summer House, that doesn’t mean she’s fully out of the Bravo-verse quite yet. She currently stars in the Summer House spinoff series In the City. That show has yet to be picked up for a season 2.

Backrooms hasn’t even left movie theaters yet, but a new version of the film will soon be available to watch on the big screen.

A24 is set to release Backrooms: Everything Must Go Edition to theaters on July 3. The film, which was directed by Kane Parsons, is the studio’s highest-grossing in history. It has already brought in over $330 million worldwide after it was produced for only $10 million.

A spokesperson for A24 did not immediately respond to ABC Audio’s request for comment.

AMC Theatres shared a listing for the new version of the film on Monday. According to the exhibitor, this version of the film “includes 15 minutes of new, theatrically exclusive post-credit bonus footage from Kane Parsons.” It runs for two hours and six minutes.

Backrooms opened in theaters on May 29. It brought in more than $81 million at the domestic box office in its opening weekend. This made it the biggest debut in history for an original horror film, as well as the biggest debut for a first-time filmmaker on a nonfranchise film. He was 20 years old at the time, making Parsons the youngest director to have a #1 film at the box office.

The horror film is based on Parsons’ popular YouTube series. It stars Chiwetel Ejiofor and Renate Reinsve as two people who enter a secret doorway into a maze of seemingly endless rooms.

The official trailer for Robert Eggers’ Werwulf has arrived.

Focus Features released the first trailer for the upcoming film on Monday.

Aaron Taylor-Johnson stars as a character called Man, while Lily-Rose Depp and Willem Dafoe also make up the film’s cast. All three actors previously worked with Eggers in his film Nosferatu.

Werwulf‘s logline reads, “In 13th-century England, a mysterious creature stalks a foggy countryside as local folklore becomes a terrifying reality for the villagers.”

The film is described as Eggers’ “most visceral and haunting experience yet” and “a harrowing tale of devotion, damnation, and the devil within,” according to its official tagline.

The trailer features haunting imagery of a young boy going through a ceremony that leads to a transformation.

“Do not dread the darkness. Embrace it,” the young boy is told.

Later, when the young boy has grown into Taylor-Johnson, we see Dafoe’s character speak to him and his family.

“I’ve heard of a raving beast that ravished this country,” he says. Taylor-Johnson’s wife, played by Depp, then says, “Keep my husband safe,” as she spreads blood atop his forehead.

Werwulf is set to release on Dec. 25. This is similar to Nosferatu, which released on Christmas Day in 2024.

Nosferatu became Focus Features’ second-highest-grossing movie in the U.S. It made $90.5 million in theaters after its December 2024 release.

As America approaches its 250th anniversary, 20/20 co-anchor Deborah Roberts and ABC News national correspondent Will Reeve are celebrating the occasion by highlighting some of the nation’s greatest stories, triumphs and innovations in Disney Celebrates America: The Pursuit of Happiness.

Roberts says the special arrives at a time when many Americans are experiencing “so many complicated emotions” about the country.

“We had a chance to think about where this country has been, the diversity of this country, the inventiveness of this country, the difficulties that people have faced in this country so we sort of use that as a backdrop but to highlight so many things about our country,” she tells ABC Audio, mentioning her coverage of the Savannah Bananas, Pan Am flight attendants and more.

She notes the country has a lot to celebrate and reflect on, highlighting it’s beauty, uniqueness and resilience.

“This is a country that has not only been through a lot, we’ve been built through love and sweat and tears and sacrifice, but there’s also a lot to look at and to stand in wonder of,” Roberts says. “There are a lot of moments that are worth celebrating and also moments that are worth…contemplating and wondering…how we might be better and stronger as a country.”

Ultimately, Roberts hopes the special gives viewers a sense of joy.

“There are a lot of people who might be a little conflicted right now because of the politics in this country about how they feel about celebrating,” she says. “I hope people will take away a real feeling of depth and of heart and exploration from this special and also too, of course, just some fun.” 

Disney Celebrates America: The Pursuit of Happiness airs Monday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and streams next day on Disney+ and Hulu, with Roberts hosting from Walt Disney World Resort and Reeve from Disneyland.

Like the claw machine in the very first movie, Toy Story 5 is keeping its grips tight on the #1 spot at the box office.

According to Box Office Mojo, the fifth installment in the long-running Pixar series added $70 million in its second weekend following its $160 million debut, which marked the best domestic opening for any movie so far in 2026. It’s total domestic gross is now close to $300 million.

Supergirl, however, had a harder time taking off in its debut week. The latest installment in the DC Universe, starring Milly Alcock as the Kara Zor-El, took second place with an opening weekend of $38 million.

The horror sensation Obsession stands at #3 with an extra $9.8 million, bringing its total domestic gross to over $230 million. Jackass: Best and Last, the swan song for Johnny Knoxville and company’s comedy stunt series, debuted at #4 with $8.4 million, while Steven Spielberg’s sci-fi epic Disclosure Day rounded out the top five with $8.1 million.

Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour have said goodbye to Hawkins, but they aren’t saying goodbye to working together.

The Stranger Things co-stars are teaming up for a brand-new Netflix series.

Brown and Harbour are set to star in and executive produce an upcoming spy drama show from A24 that has received a straight-to-series order at Netflix. The pair will play father and daughter once again in the new series, which comes from Emmy-winning Adolescence writer Jack Thorne.

The currently untitled thriller follows “disgraced FBI agent turned security expert Matt Wolfe (Harbour)” who “is drawn back into the world he left behind when his estranged daughter, Rebecca (Brown) — now an FBI agent determined to follow in his footsteps — vanishes on a mission, forcing him to return to a field that has evolved beyond him,” according to an official description from the streamer.

“We are delighted to bring this spy drama to life with an extraordinary group of talent we’ve been fortunate to collaborate with before,” Jinny Howe, the Netflix head of scripted series in US and Canada, said. “Jack Thorne’s ability to find the deeply human story inside a thriller is unmatched, and watching Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour reunite — this time as estranged father and daughter on opposite sides of a crisis — is something audiences are going to love. A24 is the perfect partner to bring this story to our members around the world.”

Brown’s husband, Jake Bongiovi, and her father, Robert Brown, will executive produce the show for PCMA Productions.
