Linkin Park‘s “Lost” has found itself at the top of another Billboard chart.
The track is now the #1 single on the Alternative Airplay ranking, a week after reaching the summit on the Mainstream Rock Airplay tally. It also leads Mainstream Rock for the second consecutive frame.
“Lost” is the first Linkin Park tune to reach the top spot on Alternative Airplay since “Burn It Down” in 2012 and is the group’s 12th overall #1 on the chart. The “Numb” outfit now ties Green Day for the second-most #1 hits on Alternative Airplay, trailing only Red Hot Chili Peppers, who have 15.
Originally written and recorded during the sessions for LP’s 2003 sophomore album, Meteora, “Lost” is being released now ahead of the upcoming 20th anniversary Meteora reissue, due out April 7. It features lead vocals by the late Chester Bennington, making it the first #1 on Alternative Airplay to posthumously feature a singer since Nirvana‘s “You Know You’re Right,” which led the chart in 2002, eight years after Kurt Cobain‘s death.
