Public Image Ltd. has released a new song called “Hawaii.”
Not only is the track the first fresh offering from John Lydon and company in eight years, “Hawaii” will be Ireland’s official entry into the 2023 Eurovision Song Contest, which recently made global superstars out of Måneskin.
In a statement, Lydon says “Hawaii,” which was written about his wife, Nora, and her ongoing battle with Alzheimer’s disease, “is dedicated to everyone going through tough times on the journey of life, with the person they care for the most.”
“It’s also a message of hope that ultimately love conquers all,” Lydon adds.
You can listen to “Hawaii” now via digital outlets.
PiL’s most recent album is 2015’s What the World Needs Now…, and a new record is due out later this year.
