When it comes to #1 albums in their home country, Liam and Noel Gallagher are now officially tied.
Liam’s latest solo effort, C’MON YOU KNOW, has debuted at the top of the U.K.’s Official Albums Chart. It’s his fourth solo release to achieve that feat, which, combined with Oasis‘ seven chart-topping records, gives Liam a total of 11 U.K. #1s.
That equals the streak of Liam’s former bandmate and estranged brother, who has also notched four #1 albums with his solo project, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.
Speaking to OfficialCharts.com about C’MON YOU KNOW‘s debut, Liam shares, “What do we have here? Another Number 1 record brothers and sisters! … I’m buzzing, you’re very kind. Thanks everyone and I’ll see you again.”
C’MON YOU KNOW was released last Friday. It includes the single “Everything’s Electric,” which features and was co-written by Dave Grohl.
