With Spotify in the news, Rivers Cuomo is launching his own streaming service.

The Weezer frontman has announced Weezify, featuring over 3,000 of Cuomo’s own demos. In a tweet sharing the news, Cuomo writes, “Tired of Spotify? Come on over to Weezify.”

“I made this app myself,” Cuomo says. “It took me all of 2021 to make. I hope you enjoy it.”

Weezify is available for download now via the Apple App Store and Google Play.

You may recall back in 2020 when Cuomo uploaded around 2,000 demos online as part of a web programming class.

Spotify, meanwhile, has come under fire recently after musicians including Neil Young and Joni Mitchell have removed their music from the service in response to its continuing hosting of Joe Rogan‘s podcast The Joe Rogan Experience, which has been criticized for spreading misinformation regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and vaccines.
