A new story in Gilead is unfolding soon.

Nearly a year after June Osborn’s story in The Handmaid’s Tale series reached its conclusion, a new chapter of Gilead’s story will be told in The Testaments, a series also based on Margaret Atwood’s book of the same name.

Good Morning America was the first to debut the star-studded trailer Thursday.

The trailer introduces audiences to Agnes McKenzie (Chase Infiniti), who sets the scene: A dollhouse mirroring what it’s like in Gilead, the fictional totalitarian theocratic regime that was introduced in The Handmaid’s Tale, which has replaced the United States and is structured around strict gender roles and religion.

“Some dolls were always busy,” Infiniti begins. “Others were always doing the important work. There is a little girl doll, that’s me.”

As clips of Infiniti in purple uniform appear with other girls in purple uniform, she says, “Back then, we still believed in this world.”

“I guess it’s easier to accept a story than believe that the people around you are monsters,” Infiniti adds as a clip of her and her friends appear to be introduced to the atrocities of Gilead for the first time.

According to a synopsis, The Testaments serves as an “evolution of The Handmaid’s Tale.” It’s a coming-of-age story following the young women as they navigate the halls of Aunt Lydia’s (Ann Dowd) preparatory school for future wives.

The show also stars Lucy Halliday, Rowan Blanchard, Mattea Conforti and Mabel Li.

Atwood’s book, which was released in 2019, served as a sequel to The Handmaid’s Tale and was set 15 years after June’s story. 

Elisabeth Moss, who portrayed June Osborne/Offred in The Handmaid’s Tale, serves as a co-executive producer with showrunner Bruce Miller.

The Testaments premieres on Hulu on April 8.

(SPOILER ALERT) Francesca Bridgerton faced a devastating loss with the death of her husband, Lord John Stirling, in the second part of Bridgerton season 4. But her storyline wasn’t all storm clouds.

The third-oldest Bridgerton daughter formed an unlikely friendship with her husband’s cousin, Michaela Stirling, which John was able to witness before he passed. Masali Baduza, who plays Michaela on the series, told ABC Audio it was “so much fun” to develop their dynamic this season.

“I think Michaela and Francesca bring out sides to them that they’re maybe not used to having to confront,” Baduza said. “I think getting to see them become friends was so lovely.”

The scene where Francesca (Hannah Dodd) and Michaela finally connect was “was one of my favorite days shooting,” Baduza said.

“Getting to see how unnerved Francesca makes Michaela, but her having to … push all those feelings down and just pretend that no, she’s not freaking out,” Baduza said, “was a nice challenge.”

In the season’s final episode, Michaela flees after promising Francesca she will stay with her at Kilmartin House. Baduza spoke on why she thinks Michaela broke her promise.

“I think Michaela was just overwhelmed,” Baduza said. “It was just a lot that happened for her in such a short space of time. And I think she just was having a lot of feelings that she wasn’t ready to confront yet. And she had to just bounce.”

Baduza said running is “what she does best.”

“She just runs away from her issues. And I think that, in the future, she’s going to have to deal with all of that fallout,” Baduza said. “She’s always gonna be a part of Francesca’s life because they shared this connection with John, and I think that hopefully we see her just figure that relationship out.”

Cameras have started rolling on Untamed season 2.

Netflix has revealed that production on the second season of the hit mystery thriller series has begun in Hawaii. The season will shoot on location on O’ahu and the island of Hawaii.

Eric Bana will once again star as Kyle Turner, who takes on a new case that brings him to Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park.

Untamed is co-showrun and executive produced by Mark L. Smith and Elle Smith. The duo told Netflix they are “excited to explore the pristine landscapes and cultural identity of a very different national park, and find Turner in a new state of mind, outside the comfort of Yosemite.”

A special Hawaiian blessing took place last week, according to Netflix, ahead of production starting. Those in attendance included Bana, John Wells, Mark L. Smith and Elle Smith, as well as Adriana Nassar and Paola Franco from Netflix and Matt Devahl from Warner Bros Television.

According to its official logline, season 2 “follows special agent Kyle Turner as he’s called to investigate a mysterious death in Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park, where local tensions and the volatile, living landscape become an unpredictable force.”

Season 2 will consist of six one-hour episodes. The first season debuted to Netflix on July 17, 2025, where it reached the #1 spot on the Netflix Global Top 10. It remained on the list for seven weeks and was the third-most-watched Netflix program during the second half of 2025 after accumulating 92.8 million views, according to the streamer’s engagement report.

School is back in session.

Abbott Elementary has been renewed for a sixth season at ABC.

The announcement was made in a post to ABC and Abbott Elementary‘s official Instagram accounts.

“Just got off the phone with Barbara, you might want to give her a call,” the post’s caption reads.

The post features a photo of teacher Barbara Howard, who is portrayed by Sheryl Lee Ralph on the sitcom, and a phone number fans can call. When called, the number takes you to a voicemail Ralph has made in character as Mrs. Howard.

“I am too busy celebrating the good news to come to the phone right now. In case you haven’t heard, Abbott Elementary will be back again for season 6 on ABC,” the voicemail says. “I cannot wait to get back to shaping the young minds and hearts of the future. Oh, and if this is Melissa calling: Girlfriend, I’m running late for our nail appointment because I was recording this message. Listen, try to save me a working massage chair.”

The Quinta Brunson-created series is currently airing its fifth season Wednesdays on ABC, streaming on Hulu the next day. Brunson, Ralph, Tyler James Williams, Janelle James, Chris Perfetti, Lisa Ann Walter and William Stanford Davis star in the sitcom.

Brunson took to Instagram to share the renewal announcement news.

“More @abbottelemabc coming your way :),” she captioned her post.

Westeros is getting a few new faces.

Lucy Boynton, Babou Ceesay and Peter Mullan have joined the season 2 cast of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms.

HBO made the announcement to its official Game of Thrones social media accounts on Wednesday.

“Every journey needs new companions,” the post’s caption reads.

Boynton will play Lady Rohanne, Ceesay takes on the role of Ser Bennis and Mullan will play Ser Eustace Osgrey.

The first season of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms premiered on Jan. 18 and finished its run on Feb. 22. It consisted of six half-hour episodes about the adventures of an unexpected duo and is based on the novellas by George R.R. Martin.

“A century before the events of Game of Thrones, two unlikely heroes wandered Westeros … a young, naïve but courageous knight, Ser Duncan the Tall, and his diminutive squire, Egg,” according to the show’s official logline. “Set in an age when the Targaryen line still holds the Iron Throne, and the memory of the last dragon has not yet passed from living memory, great destinies, powerful foes, and dangerous exploits all await these improbable and incomparable friends.”

The show takes place 72 years after House of the Dragon and 100 years before the events of Game of Thrones. It stars Peter Claffey as Ser Duncan “Dunk” the Tall and Dexter Sol Ansell as Egg.

(SPOILER ALERT) Congratulations are in order for the second Bridgerton son, Benedict, and his bride, Sophie Baek.

The couple, portrayed by Luke Thompson and Yerin Ha, were married in an end credits scene after the final episode of Netflix’s Bridgerton season 4.

Benedict and Sophie returned to My Cottage for their nuptials, which was an intimate ceremony that included their family and closest friends. Ha spoke to ABC Audio about what it was like to bring such a special scene to life.

“It was so beautiful to go back to the My Cottage where we started [and] finish there,” Ha said.

She continued, saying “everyone that we hoped to be there” was in attendance, including Mr. and Mrs. Crabtree, (Billy Boyle and Susan Brown) the housekeepers at Benedict’s Wiltshire home, who helped nurture the beginnings of their relationship.

Ha said she developed quite a fondness for the dress Sophie wore on her wedding day. So much, in fact, she thought about incorporating it in her own future wedding.

“It was funny, because when you put on a wedding dress, you’re like, ‘I should put this on for my real life,'” Ha said.

While it was not an actual wedding, Ha said she forgot that fact while filming.

“It felt like a wedding,” Ha said, especially the part where she had “to walk down that aisle very slowly.”

Ha said the crew even got into the celebratory spirit on set that day.

“It felt like at that moment, it was a pure celebration of our story, our season, with everyone all there,” Ha said. “Even the crew were told to wear non-crew clothing and everyone actually dressed up like they were part of the wedding as well. It was a beautiful day.”

The creator of the God of War video game is making his thoughts on the upcoming TV series adaptation known.

David Jaffe, who is the game designer and director of the Playstation video game franchise, recently shared a YouTube video criticizing the first-look photo Prime Video released of its new series adaptation of God of War.

Jaffe said the photo, which features protagonist Kratos, as played by Ryan Hurst, in the woods with his son, Atreus, played by Callum Vinson, is “so bad in so many ways.”

“I’m sure everybody’s trying real hard,” Jaffe said, before laughing and saying, “It’s so dumb.”

Jaffe continued, saying that although he does not like the first-look photo of the series, he believes in the talent involved in creating the show.

“But let’s be incredibly clear, OK? Two things can be true. This can be a terrible image, and it is. It is so bad in so many ways,” Jaffe said. “And Ron Moore is awesome, who is the showrunner … This guy is a juggernaut of a talented fellow. I have absolutely no doubt it is going to be a good show.”

The God of War creator then went on to say that he does not mind that Hurst does not exactly resemble the video game version of Kratos, but instead, he takes issue with the expression and pose he uses in the photo.

“Kratos in this pose with this expression, not the guy’s face, but this expression, he just looks stupid,” Jaffe said. “If you’re going to reveal, to most people, a brand new character that you hope is going to carry your series, for the first time, and they’ve never really seen this before, and this is the way you introduce them?”

God of War has already received a two-season order from Prime Video.
