Stranger Things star Joe Keery has offered his two cents into the ongoing celebrity bathing habits debate.

Speaking to GQ, the 29-year-old actor revealed that he not only doesn’t wash his hair, he also rarely ventures into the barber’s chair. Keery said he doesn’t “get” haircuts, but that they “simply happen” to him as part of his job.

Fans do take Keery’s hair seriously, as he sports long brunette locks on the popular Netflix horror series as the lovable bad boy Steve Harrington.  That said, when he rocked a bowl cut during a red carpet event in 2019, it became a headline craze as fans outwardly demanded on social media that he bring back his old look.

Little did his fans know, he was counting on their outrage.  The 29-year-old actor admits he is aware of what is expected of him and goes out of his way to subvert those expectations, which he says is fun.  

So, would he ever shave off the hair he admittedly doesn’t wash all that much anyway?  Keery admittedly has been thinking of getting a buzz cut for quite some time.

The actor is set to reprise his role as Steve in the upcoming fourth season of Stranger Things and he revealed he did not expect his character to last this long.

“I figured I was going to get killed,” he said, noting the type of character he plays — “d****ey sort of boyfriend” — is always “the first guy to die.”  

Thankfully, the showrunners fell in love with Steve and his magnificent mane, so they bumped him up to the main cast.

Months after reportedly taking a break from acting, Shia LaBeouf may be planning a comeback.

Filmmaker Abel Ferrara tells Variety that the Transformers actor has signed on for a role in his next film, which chronicles the younger years of Italian Saint Padre Pio. Ferrara’s frequent collaborator and close friend Willem Dafoe is also reportedly eyeing a role in the film.

“We’re doing a film about Padre Pio, he’s a monk from Puglia,” says Ferrara. “It’s set in Italy right after World War I.  He’s now a saint, he had stigmata.  He was also in the middle of a very heavy political period in world history.  He was very young before he became a saint, so Shia LaBeouf is going to play the monk.”

The news comes eight months after LeBeouf’s former girlfriend, singer FKA Twigs, filed a lawsuit against him accusing the 35-year-old actor of physical abuse during their relationship.  Two months later, sources told Variety that LaBeouf made the decision to take a break from acting.

LaBeouf, whose other films include Disturbia and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, recently starred in David Ayer’s action flick The Tax Collector.  He was last seen in Pieces of a Woman, opposite Vanessa Kirby.

The wresting drama Heels enters the ring this Sunday on Starz and star Stephen Amell said something very unexpected happened on the first day of filming — he broke his back.

Amell, who stars as an amateur wrestler trying to keep tradition alive in a small town, told ABC Audio that he injured himself on a stunt gone wrong.

“I overshot it coast to coast on our first day of filming wrestling stuff and suffered a compression fracture,” the actor confessed, explaining that the injury was between his mid and lower back.

However, he assured that breaking his back wasn’t quite as catastrophic as it sounds.

Said Amell, 40, “I’m very fortunate and lucky that it was an injury that sounds scary, but didn’t require surgery. [It] just sort of healed on its own.”  

On the other hand, he says his colleagues freaked out over his broken back.

“I certainly scared a lot of people,” said Amell, noting his phone blew up with people worried about his recovery — including a showrunner who was planning to “shift stuff around” to give him ample time to recover.

“He said, ‘Don’t you worry about it, because we’re going to shift stuff around. We’re going to write you out until Thanksgiving and then we’ll take a break, come back in the New Year,'” he described. “I was like, ‘No… I’ll see you in a couple days.”

After taking “a little bit of time off work,” he was back to the grind… because he loves his job.

Said Amell, who dabbled in the pro-wrestling world, “Anyone who thinks that I’m going to give up the life of hair and makeup and drivers and someone making my breakfast, lunch and dinner, for life on the road in professional wrestling is out of their [expletive] mind!”

After multiple pandemic delays, the action comedy Free Guy is finally in theaters.

Ryan Reynolds plays Guy, a wholesome bank teller who learns that he’s actually an NPC — or a non-player-character — in a violent online game called Free City. 

The mysterious LadyMolotov — the online avatar for Jodie Comer‘s programmer Millie — opens his eyes.

Along with Joe Keery‘s character Keys, who exists outside of the game, they fight to bring down Taika Waititi‘s odious dudebro Antwan, who stole Millie and Keys’ A.I. game design that turned Guy self-aware, which threatens Antwan’s successful Free City franchise.

At a recent press event, Reynolds joked of his alter-ego, “Well, you know, my default is just pure trash on the inside, so this is sort of slightly new for me.” He added, “You know, there’s something really wonderful about playing a character who’s kind of naive and innocent…it’s even said in the movie, he’s in a sense…like a four-year-old adult.”

Reynolds also noted, “There’s something I think really fun about exploring…everything with new eyes, which is what this character gets to do.”

For Killing Eve Emmy winner Comer, she’s playing both the kick-butt LadyMolotov and her softhearted real-world alter-ego. “It was a huge part of what attracted me to the piece, having this girl Millie and Molotov being a creation of her,” she said. “But that Molotov was also very, very different.”

As for Taika’s “control freak” character, he said, “I’ve met a lot of people like this.” Jabbing Hollywood agents, the Oscar winner noted, “Whenever I think of villains, I think of Americans who I’ve met at CAA parties.”

“Totally. Totally,” Reynolds agreed.

Netflix has set an October 29 release date for their Colin Kaepernick-centered series Colin in Black & White.

As previously reported, the limited series, which follows Kaepernick’s journey to becoming a civil-rights activist and professional football player, focuses on the athlete’s young-adult years growing up in a mixed-race household after being adopted by a white family. Seventeen-year-old Jaden Michael will play Kaepernick as a teen, while Nick Offerman and Mary-Louise Parker will star as Colin’s parents.

In other news, Power universe creator Courtney A. Kemp is officially bringing her talents over to Netflix. According to Variety, Kemp has signed a multi-year creative partnership with the streamer where she will develop new projects via her End of Episode production banner.

Finally, DeVon Franklin is taking on a new project centered on relationships. Deadline reports that Franklin is developing a romantic comedy for Amazon based on Michael Todd‘s New York Times bestseller, Relationship Goals: How to Win at Dating, Marriage, and Sex. The book, which spent 13 straight weeks on the New York Times bestsellers list and debuted at No. 1 on Amazon, is described as a guide to “finding lasting love and sustaining a healthy relationship.” Casting details have yet to be announced.

The pandemic has delayed Venom: Let There Be Carnage again.

According to Variety, the release of the upcoming Venom sequel starring Tom Hardy has been pushed back due to the rise in Delta variant COVID-19 cases.

The film, which was also delayed several times during the pandemic, was most recently set to open in U.S. theaters September 24. It’s now scheduled to open on October 15.

Venom: Let There Be Carnage, directed by Andy Serkis, once again stars Hardy as the titular character, otherwise known as Eddie Brock.  Naomie Harris plays the Spider-Man villain Shriek and Woody Harrelson, who made an uncredited mid-credits appearance in the first film, stars as Carnage.  Michelle Williams will also reprise her role as Anne Weying, the ex-fiancée of Eddie Brock/Venom.

Get ready to relive a national scandal with FX’s Impeachment: American Crime Story.

The series has debuted its first full-length trailer, showing Clive Owen as President Bill Clinton, Beanie Feldstein as Monica Lewinsky, Edie Falco as Hillary Clinton, Sarah Paulson as Linda Tripp, and Annaleigh Ashford as Paula Jones.

Impeachment: American Crime Story follows the story of Clinton’s affair with White House intern Lewinsky in the mid-’90s, his subsequent denials of the affair, and the impeachment proceedings that followed. It’s told mostly through the perspectives of Lewinsky, Tripp and Jones.

In the trailer, we even get a peek of Owen as Clinton uttering the president’s infamous line, “I did not have sexual relations with that woman.”

Impeachment: American Crime Story premieres September 7 on FX.

The first trailer has been released for Introducing, Selma Blair, a Discovery+ documentary about actress Selma Blair‘s battle with multiple sclerosis.

The trailer shows raw and emotional moments of Selma dealing with symptoms of the illness and treatments for it, including chemotherapy. We see glimpses of the actress at some of her lowest points, as well as more joyful times spent her 10-year-old son, Arthur.

“I always thought I was on a reality show,” Selma says at the beginning of the trailer. “Like, I was in a documentary but only God would see it…and disapprove.”

The Cruel Intentions actress revealed her diagnosis in 2018. Earlier this week, she showed her love and support for her The Sweetest Thing co-star Christina Applegate after Applegate revealed her own MS diagnosis.

The Mayo Clinic describes MS as “a potentially disabling disease of the brain and spinal cord.”  Currently, there is no known cure, but there are treatments available that may alleviate some of the symptoms.

Introducing, Selma Blair will open in select theaters on October 15 and launch on Discovery+ on October 21.

The Home Alone franchise will be back this holiday season.

A new adventure comedy, Home Sweet Home Alone, is set to debut exclusively on Disney+ November 12, 2021.

Following in the footsteps of Macaulay Culkin’s Kevin McAllister is Max Mercer, a young boy who’s accidentally left behind while his family goes to Japan for the holidays. He must protect his family home from a trespassing married couple determined to steal a priceless heirloom.

The film’s cast includes Ellie Kemper, Rob Delaney, Archie Yates, Aisling Bea, Kenan Thompson, Tim Simons and Pete Holmes.

The original Home Alone movie came out in 1990. Home Sweet Home Alone will be the sixth movie in the franchise.

The CW’s live-action Powerpuff Girls has suffered another setback.

After the network decided to redo the initial pilot, Entertainment Weekly confirms that one of the stars — Chloe Bennet — has exited the project.

The former Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. actress had been set to play Blossom alongside Dove Cameron’s Bubbles and Yana Perrault’s Buttercup.

EW reports that Bennet had to step away due to scheduling conflicts after it was decided the pilot would be reworked and reshot. Casting for a new Blossom will begin this fall.
