Task and House of the Dragon are among the shows returning for another season on HBO.
The network announced Thursday that Task, the Mark Ruffalo-starring crime drama series, will be back for season 2, while the Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon will return for season 4.
The third season of House of the Dragon will air in summer 2026, with the fourth season airing in 2028.
Another Game of Thrones spinoff series, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, was renewed for a second season before the first season has even aired. Season 1 debuts Jan. 18.
HBO also renewed the comedies I Love LA and The Chair Company for second seasons.

Cynthia Erivo has made her first public comments regarding the Nov. 13 incident in which Ariana Grande was accosted by an online prankster during the Wicked:For Good premiere in Singapore.
Erivo told Savannah Guthrie on NBC’s Today show Thursday why she stepped between the man, Johnson Wen, and her co-star Grande, and physically pulled him off her before security took him away.
“I was really thinking, I just wanted to make sure my friend was safe,” Erivo told Guthrie. “I’m sure he didn’t mean us harm, but I just, you never know with those things and I wanted to make sure that she was okay. That was my first instinct.”
Erivo went on to add of her relationship with Grande, “This is a long-lasting friendship for us. We’re kind of like sisters at this moment. And I think we’ve both learned from each other and given each other some really, really beautiful gifts. We’ve really looked after each other through this.”
As previously reported, Wen was sentenced to nine days in jail by a Singapore court after pleading guilty to public nuisance charges.
‘The Hunger Game: Sunrise on the Reaping’ (Lionsgate)
We have our first look at The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.
Lionsgate has released a teaser for the prequel film, which shows a young Haymitch Abernathy, played by Joseph Zada, being chosen as a tribute for the 50th Hunger Games.
The teaser shows glimpses of the arena and counts down from 10 as we see the tributes – 48 instead of the usual 24 – prepare to fight to the death.
There are also shots of Ralph Fiennes as President Snow, Jesse Plemons as Plutarch Heavensbee and Elle Fanning as Effie Trinket.
At the end of the teaser we hear the voice of Woody Harrelson — who played Haymitch in the original films — say, “I think these games are gonna be different.”
The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping is based on Suzanne Collins’ 2025 novel of the same name. It revisits the world of Panem almost 25 years before the events of the original book and film saga. Francis Lawrence, who was behind the camera for four out of the five previous movies in the franchise, is directing the film from a screenplay by Billy Ray.
The character of Haymitch eventually becomes the mentor for Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, played by Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson in the original films.
The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping arrives in theaters on Nov. 20, 2026.

A sequel to The Family Stone is in the works.
Thomas Bezucha, who wrote and directed the 2005 film, said in a recent interview with CNN that he has been working on a follow-up to the original film. The original movie follows the Stone family at Christmastime as they navigate matriarch Sybil Stone’s (Diane Keaton) cancer diagnosis.
Bezucha said he was working on the new script when he learned of Keaton’s death on Oct. 11 at the age of 79.
“I’ve been haunted by the loss of Sybil for months now while I worked on it, and so this was a low on a tender bruise already,” Bezucha said. “Mentally, I’ve been spending time in that house where I’ve been missing her for a while already.”
He added that Keaton’s death made him want to “do a good job by the rest of the cast” and “honor her even more.”
Keaton starred alongside Claire Danes, Rachel McAdams, Dermot Mulroney, Craig T. Nelson, SarahJessica Parker, Luke Wilson, Tyrone Giordano, Brian J. White, Elizabeth Reaser, Paul Schneider and Jamie Kaler in The Family Stone.
The film, which was produced by 20th Century Fox and has since been acquired by Disney, follows businesswoman Meredith (Parker), who accompanies her boyfriend, Everett (Mulroney), to his family’s Christmas celebration and learns she’s a fish out of water in their spirited way of life.
Bezucha said that when he first took his idea for a sequel to his producer, he said he was only interested in making a second film if it involved the principal cast.
“I’m not interested in the Brady family reunion without the original Jan,” he said, adding that when he reached out to the rest of the cast, he received “positive responses.”
According to CNN, the sequel film has not yet been greenlit. Good Morning America has reached out to 20th Century Studios for comment.

Amanda Seyfried wants to bring a couple of superstars into the Mamma Mia! family.
The actress shared she thinks Sabrina Carpenter and Sydney Sweeney could join her in a potential third Mamma Mia! film in a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight.
“Maybe I’m just naive, but I’m pretty sure Mamma Mia 3 is a done deal,” Seyfried said.
While the sequel film hasn’t been officially greenlit, Seyfried has shared her hopes for what a third Mamma Mia! film could be like.
“I love portraying a mom, so I would love to see Sophie with her kids,” Seyfried said. “Maybe she has a cousin she hasn’t seen in a while, and that could be Sabrina Carpenter. And then Sydney Sweeney could show up. There’s a bunch of girls that really want to be a part of it, and I’m all for it.”
As for the parts of the story she is sure about, Seyfried says she knows “the three dads are going to come back, and we still won’t know who the dad is because it doesn’t matter.”
The actress continued, saying that “Meryl [Streep] is a ghost, obviously, so she’ll be around. And Julie [Walters] and Christine [Baranski] will be back singing and looking hot, and we’re all going to be somewhere tropical. And ABBA will be playing.”

Zac Efron made a surprise appearance on Dancing with the Stars to support his younger brother Dylan Efron on Tuesday night.
The High School Musical star was in the audience alongside his family to cheer on his 33-year-old brother, who is competing on the show with pro partner Daniella Karagach.
Dylan and Daniella performed a tango to Prince & The Revolution‘s “I Would Die 4 U” and a cha-cha to “Kiss,” also by Prince & The Revolution. They earned scores of 27 and 28, respectively, securing a spot in the finale.
In a post on his Instagram Story ahead of their performances, Zac encouraged fans and followers to vote for Dylan.
The season finale of DWTS, where the dancing couples will face off for a chance to win the Len Goodman Mirrorball Trophy, airs Nov. 25 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+. It will stream the next day on Disney+ and Hulu.

The nominees for the Movies for Grownups Awards have arrived.
AARP has announced the films and TV shows that have been recognized as projects that tell the stories of and celebrate people 50 years and older.
The films nominated for best picture/best movie for grownups are Hamnet, A House of Dynamite, One BattleAfter Another, Sinners and Train Dreams.
Those nominated for best actress are Laura Dern for Is This Thing On?, Jodie Foster for A Private Life, Lucy Liu for Rosemead, Julia Roberts for After the Hunt and June Squibb for Eleanor the Great.
In the best actor category, the nominees are George Clooney for Jay Kelly, Leonardo DiCaprio for OneBattle After Another, Joel Edgerton for Train Dreams, Ethan Hawke for Blue Moon and Dwayne Johnson for The Smashing Machine.
As for the shows nominated for best TV series or limited series, Adolescence, Hacks, The Pitt, The Studio and The White Lotus received recognition.

Only Murders in the Building was just renewed for a sixth season on Hulu. Steve Martin, who co-stars with Martin Short and Selena Gomez in the comedy, says that, while he knows the show is good, he’s still surprised it’s lasted this long.
“This is a show that we, you know, diligently created, but having no idea how long it would run,” Martin tells ABC Audio. “And just the idea that we’re starting a sixth season … people say your child grows up fast. A show grows up faster. I can’t even believe we’re on season 6.”
The new season will find the main characters traveling to London, though Martin says the murders will take place in the show’s regular building, The Arconia. How? “We have clever writers,” he laughs.
Martin’s character, Charles, performs magic in season 5, one of Martin’s real-life skills. One of the actor’s other skills is playing the banjo: his latest album, Safe, Sensible and Sane, recently topped the Billboard Bluegrass Albums chart. But don’t look for Charles to play in future seasons.
“I avoided that because it’s too identified with me,” he explains, noting he doesn’t think it’s “believable” that Charles would “just have a banjo laying around.”
Martin also wrote all the lyrics and sings one song on Safe, Sensible and Sane, a collaboration with acclaimed banjo player Alison Brown. The other songs are sung by guests like Vince Gill, Jackson Browne, Jason Mraz and the Indigo Girls. For Martin, having Browne sing on “Dear Time” was a reunion — they’ve known each other since the ’60s.
“Jackson Browne was an up-and-coming songwriter, and I was an upcoming writer, comedian, musician. And we sort of worked the same clubs,” he says.
“We always worked The Troubadour, and so when we recorded the video, we went back to The Troubadour … and to see Jackson on the stage, and for me to be on that stage, was full circle.”
